Neighbour upstairs scrapes things against his hardwood floor literally over 100 times per day where it makes a low pitch large item scraping against hardwood floor sound. This is done daily & at all hours, daytime, morning, middle of night. I always had neighbours make mysterious noises now this one is even more dumbfounding -- scraping furnature against a floor over 100 times per day - and sometimes its back and forth back and forth back and forth constant for 20 seconds, not pushing a chair in and out.

also there are all kinds of bangs and thuds, sometimes pacing back and forth like walking a half mile indoors. Is it some form of mental illness where the person just scrapes things against a floor all day and night?

the scraping of items against the floor comes from different locations above. not the same location always.

Maybe your neighbor has a bad case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and this is part of their Neurotic behavior pattern?

Maybe they have to constantly rearrange the furniture to make the room perfect for awhile, until they have to rearrange again.

OP just go up and ask.. or! make an excuse, say you have locked yourself out and desperately need to use the loo.. then say you can't thank him enough, say you need to use the phone as you left your moby indoors as you need to call the locksmiths (Pretend call)

Then say they will take up to a few hours to arrive.. in mean time make convo, sit down have a cuppa with him then BAM! watch what happens!!

Ooh it would drive me crazy living with close neighbors like that!

My next door neighbor already drives me crazy--She SCREAMS at her dogs EVERY DAY, literally blood curdling lose your voice screams--and when she does it, it sets off my dog to barking S977
