That’s more money added to the goods that are transported by trucks.

I drove all around Mexico for years, and the toll roads were the nicest roads, but very expensive. I think Japan built and owned a bunch of the toll roads there.

They didn’t do a good job with some of the toll booths, because if you followed the trucks, they would used bypasses to get around the booths.

I feel lucky to have driven all around North America, and Central America when I did, because I believe it will all be coming to an end soon.

I live in Central NY as many of you might already know from previous discussions about local things from place to place in the country, and we have had the main east-west interstate highway here in NY as a toll road since it was built in the 1950's... The good old New York State Thruway.

I drive a section of it every day going to and returning from work, amounts to about 48 cents a day total. I have an EZ-Pass thing so I don't need to dick around with the manual payment card and needing to carry change.

It's not that expensive, at least not here, and not for short distances. I think to drive the entire length of the state is on the order of $15 in total.

Now if they make ALL the major roads a toll arrangement, I could see that shit getting MEGA expensive RFN. ( Right Frakking Now)

Guess I'd have to learn the backroads and cowpaths... Even more than I already do.

A few years ago I had a part time job in a nearby town, and back-roading it - I mean REALLY back-roading it - entailed cutting thru a farmers field on the two-track path skirting along one side of it they used for tractors and things from one seasonal use dirt road to another. That cut off like 5 miles of the trip.

Hell I did it once, I can do it again!

That's simply not right! The Government needs to control all the roads. With tolls, the only people who would pay for them would be the people who actually use them. How is that fair?
