New Unemployment cases. We are back to normal. Praise Obama!
UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE WEEKLY CLAIMS REPORT
UNADJUSTED DATA
The advance number of actual initial claims under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 310,121 in the week ending August 18, a decrease of 7,320 from the previous week. There were 344,870 initial claims in the comparable week in 2011.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/eta/u...121748.htm
The actual numbers of new unemployment claims for last week were 310,121. That is very much normal. Those were the type of numbers we had back in 2003 and 2004 before Dubya destroyed the country with his banking shenanigans. I still say he should be tried for Treason for raping our country the way he and his banking friends did.

The 310 thousand listed above are the actual number of claims filed for unemployment compensation in the previous week. These are all on computer systems in all fifty states. The states all file their data with the Federal Government by Wednesday of the next week and the report is usually issued on Thursday morning. The actual claims filed is totally accurate.
Now, the number of total people who are unemployed is done from a survey taken monthly. Supposedly people are called and asked a sequence of questions that are tabulated and go into the overall employment report issued by the Department of Labor. I have never been called, and I know nobody who remembers ever being called so sometimes I wonder.
I do know that such polling is usually quite accurate. Presidential polls are right within a fraction of a percentage point.

U.S. weekly jobless claims up slightly to 372,000
Market Pulse
August 23, 2012|Jeffry Bartash
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - Applications for U.S. jobless benefits rose by 4,000 to a seasonally adjusted 372,000 in the week ended Aug. 18, the Labor Department said Thursday. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch had projected claims would rise to 369,000. Initial claims from two weeks ago were revised up to 368,000 from an original reading of 366,000, based on more complete data collected at the state level...

Obama admin always lowballs unemployment.
And this will be revised upwards AGAIN in a month or two.

What a shock.....
Unemployment figures show improvement when Obamafraud starts his home stretch toward a reelection.
Keep your eyes peeled , more "improvements" are on the way.
Kind of hoping he does get re-elected. Might be just the spark needed to start a little revolution and the Washington toilet will finally get a good flushing

Actually, your statement is totally false. As previously stated the actual claims for unemployment insurance are the actual numbers entered in for payment. That can not be fabricated. The number you quoted was way higher than the actual claims.
If you theory held true, that the Obama administration (which has no control over the Department of Labor number crunchers) would be screwing itself in reporting the silly number that you posted. Your number which was way higher than the actual number of claims is adjusted for traditional season ebbs and flows. I never post the ADJUSTED NUMBER, only the ACTUAL NUMBERS AS TABULATED ON THE VARIOUS STATE COMPUTERS (you can add in Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and the D.O.C.)

WRONG AGAIN!
These are not unemployment numbers. These are Unemployment Insurance Claims. Big Difference!
The Insurance Claims are people who are newly applying for their insurance. In most states they have to have been laid off after six or more months of employment.

Well, what I've seen reported were estimates by the Obama administration which have always been adjusted upwards by state reporting.
Meaning they estimate it first, then adjust it upwards based on the state numbers as they come in.
That's not a completely unreasonable practice: if you have to make an estimate, guessing high might unnecessary rattle "confidence."
Post links to your sources.
Are you saying they had the right numbers and then guessed high?

Here again is the site where the computerized numbers are posted.
http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/eta/u...121748.htm
If people do not fill out Unemployment Insurance Claims, they are not counted. 312 Thousand is NORMAL.
If there are people who have not filed their claims, they are throwing away their rightful income.
