This is just more chest-thumping rhetoric by the NK government. Even if they have an EMP device, it will only affect devices in the region, including their own. The US military can have other forces in place in a hurry, and new equipment as well. And, that doesn't account for long-range missiles and bombers.

Nk could easily take SK, what's stopping them..................... the US.

C'ept if the US were to suffer an EMP strike that knocked out its CIVILIAN infrastructure..............after a year 90% of you would be dead, civil, race wars, La Raza, starvation etc. meanwhile the entire NK military are sitting pretty in the nuclear proof bunkers hollowed out of their granite mountains.

Iran has equally compelling but different reasons to do exactly the same - both of these nations have collaborated and shared EMP technology - all it takes is a crude nuclear weapon mounted on a scud type missile, detonated 40 miles high or so - fired from an annonymous coastal freighter - the US defenses are geared for ICBM's - not short range missiles.
