RE: OKay... I Am A Christian... To Clear up some things..Ask Me A Question.
Do you believe in an eternal hell, and do you think that those who don't accept Jesus go there? If so, how do you reconcile this with the concept of a loving deity, and if not, why not?

Hell's always been the main sticking point for me. Seems like spiritual terrorism. So I'm genuinely curious as you seem like a pretty open-minded and compassionate type.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
New King James Version (NKJV)
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Paul wrote Corinthians, not Jesus. If murderers of Christians can be forgiven and become saints and part of The Bible, how about those fornicators?

you must repent it doesn't matter what sin you commented. Find Christ and repent (turn away from) so if you gay, stop! same goes for all sins turn away.

That's my understanding atleast.

also the Bible is inspired by God. Jesus is the son of God. anything paul taught was inspired by God. Unless Jesus rebuked him

The reason why you can call Pauls words inspired by God directly is everything he says just points directly back at God giving God the honor and Glory. Paul doesn't take credit for anything instead tries to always point everything TO Jesus, not subtract from him.

"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen." 1 Timothy 1:17

RE: OKay... I Am A Christian... To Clear up some things..Ask Me A Question.
I gotta weigh in.

First off, the bible may be one of our greatest hindrances as Christians. I always tell people that the bible is the Boy Scout Manual. Scouting is a lot bigger than the manual. The church didn't even have the bible for the first few hundred years and it spread like gangbusters.

Jesus faced the same problem in his day. That led him to remark that the Pharisees were whitewashed sepulchres full of dead mens bones. He meant by that, that they knew the OT scriptures by heart and they set themselves up as the sole interpreters as a power play but they missed the fulfillment because it would have meant the end of their power.

The catholic church did the same thing. They would torture and kill during the inquisition if someone refused to accept their interpretation of the scripture and it was actually illegal to have your own copy although that would have been difficult because it took two year to copy by hand.

The protestants were just as bad. Calvin was killing in Geneva and of course the witches were burned at Salem.

I just listened to a program by a Christian. It was all judgmentalism. The muslims did this. They did that. Then the prophecy of Americas doom this time God is giving his prophecies in poetic verse. Then a segment by a well known preacher playing on guilt. Then finished off by D"Souza on his anti-Obama film. Was God republican or democrat. I think Yaweh would have been republican but Jesus would probably vote democrat.

I see where your coming from. I guess it takes love and patience for others to not get split up by the minutia you cannot agree on in the bible because two people read it differently, but focus on what the bible does give testament too, and that being the Loving and Holy God, who came as man and died on the cross as a once and for all sacrifice for our sins. Beyond that, the minutia and small points that a lot of believers split over shouldn't matter.

But since their is sin and people can be selfish and self righteous, everyone included. There will always be splits. But, also since the Bible is inspired by God, it is still the best testament to who God really is, his Character, his personality. When you really learn that about him, you can't help but fall in love with him.

If a person believes in something and is comfortable with their convictions and beliefs, where is it written that some nutjob on a conspiracy board has the duty to tell them they are wrong and he/she is right...

If it is right for you, then you are right...

I to have a problem with the idea of hell. I best answer i have ever come up with is that people don't understand how much different spiritual life is from this life. We need to realize we can't understand much about spiritual life, we just don't understand it most part. I would suggest that for whatever reason God can't be in the presence of the non believers b/c of there sins. This would explain why the devil is so hell bent on taking souls to hell with him. In a way he wants God to be lonely. although God could just create anything or anyone he wanted. Its interesting to think about...

This is simply not so. Jesus dined with sinners, and the only people who had a problem with it were the holier-than-thou religionists.

LOL, there is a big f*cking difference with life in the material world, compared to that of the spiritual realms!!

.

If it seeketh, expects, or demands worship, it is not divine!!

If an entity were not judgmental and if an entity were not controlling then it would have no need to be either just nor "merciful" in the first place now would it!? - Cosmah
