Post: #1Obelisk Time Travel
One of the very many educational documentaries which sync with Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is Nova's Secrets of Lost Empires: Pharoah's Obelisk. This sync reveals many technical details relating to the art of out of body experience using symbolic analogy. The obelisk as section of the solar disk becomes a complex symbol relating to illumination as it applies to the human energy-body and the meditative focus of the mind. Orgone/oranur/DOR dynamics become an important consideration in this process, deadly orgone (DOR) being symbolized by desert sand; the Sand Man in more modern lore then symbolizes a kind of energy-body tax man - a neighbor maybe. The image of a vampire rising from a coffin is also of significance here, especially imagery like that seen on Bram Stoker's Dracula with Dracula seeming to rise from a crypt via mechanical lever, mimicking the movement of a obelisk being stood up on its base. Another adjunct symbol system of significance here is Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot, especially the trump card entitled The Moon, with it's biological perspective on this process; the pylon and obelisk symbolism being obvious from two perspectives.
The entire process of learning out of body projection and the living done to build an energy-body with significant energy reserve ("tonnage") can be symbolized by the entire process of birth-to-rebirth incarnation, from a multiple incarnation perspective (hieroglyphs as memories). This is the real process of "entering the temple" from an ancient Egyptian to modern Freemasonic perspective. This symbolism is sexual from an analogy perspective, but also "anatomical position", as the obelisk can be any appendage on the body. The Tarot of course lays out secretly in an anatomical position fashion, with every card in one of thirteen card stacks:
Precipitate Pisces is at bottom-center (The Moon becomes a book cover of sorts); Precipitant Sagittarius at low-center; Virgo right at the Catalytic center of the secret tree; Solvent Gemini at high-center; Solute Pisces at top-center (Aeon); Aries at top-left (looking directly across the tree at Taurus); Cancer at high-left; Libra at low-left; Capricorn at bottom-left; Taurus at top-right; Leo at high-right; Scorpio (Death) at low-right; and finally Aquarius at bottom-right. Aquarius and Capricorn are the "hands (and feet) other kids can't draw" because they are missing from published Qabalah.
"The precipitant has a smaller place in real existence, thus ... it is mortal."

The middle pillar contains the mutable signs, with Pisces represented from two relative perspectives, one of which contains the Ophiuchus archetype within itself as a specific solute dream corresponding to the center of our galaxy. The middle pillar is functional and a path experienced relative to the other pillars. This corresponds with the front door and central hallway of the Egyptian temple.

The left pillar of the tree - which corresponds with the left hand side of the supine human form - contains the Cardinal signs, which are all relative states of energy. When Romans removed one of two matching front-entrance obelisks from Luxor Temple in Egypt to Rome, they were transferring a symbolic battery, back to Rome, symbolizing a transfer of power via energy source transfer.

The right pillar of the Secret Alchemical Tree contains all of the Fixed signs, which are relative forms of initiative which bind corresponding energy forms from the left pillar of the tree to create function-expressive-of-will in the center pillar. Aquarius as "weak" purposeful volition binds the DOR energy of Capricorn to drive biological function in Pisces. Leo, further up in the tree, is the "strong" initiative of talent which assists weak Aquarius. DOR tires the body over time (Sand Man).

In the sync mentioned above, Sally is identified as two separate Pharoah's in two separate incarnations (Sally and Kim are the same male living somewhere now). Djedefre, indirectly via Sally's name spelled out as Khufu's name is mentioned; the mansion becomes the big Giza pyramid relative to Djedefre's "park bench model". And then he is identified as Tut; which is one reason the Tut Treasure took on added significance since the seventies. This individual is symbolized as very many people in syncs at face value, but his real incarnations are a puzzle of sorts. The two above-mentioned Phaerohs are two puzzle pieces.
Sally spelling her name out in rocks on the bench symbolizes repeat attempts at meditation relating to astral projection which links her incarnations together into a timeline, each rock (granite stone) symbolizing an incarnation or "hieroglyph"; the bench then becoming her bed/obelisk-barge/temple. She runs off into the woods to explore her timeline of incarnations.
Another popular solar disk symbol from modern lore is the flying saucer.

Piecing a puzzle together like this is similar to roping together an ancient Egyptian boat, a symbolism used by others like Xerxes when he roped together a bridge made of boats, and then the Greeks stole the rope and built it into a temple in symbolic response. The boat "is a temple" just as was the bridge.
Djedefre made a very sneaky use of the symbolism in burying a "puzzle boat" next to his father's pyramid, perhaps sensing the vulnerability of his "watchdog pyramid" up in Abu Rawash, which got torn to pieces because of its"advanced guard" symbolism once the Roman's conquered Egypt, thus the parkbench symbolism in the film. Djedefre most likely was thinking, "Well, if my afterlife home gets torn down, maybe Dad will let me be caretaker for his boat and live there. So I will build him one and bury it beside his pyramid (Sally entering the mansion likely symbolizes Djedefre touring Dad's huge pyramid as he was growing up). Sally digging next to the mansion to find a hidden basement touches base with this, as well as with certain "basement shenanigans" in a post Roman Emperor life(Caligula); the "hostile towards Caligula" Romans designing it that way ("How did they find out about the boat?!").
Caligula built three huge barges for various "obelisk related" purposes, all three of which were sunk to become relics. One actually transported an obelisk, and another, which is still listed as one of the largest wooden vessels ever built, was used as a luxury yacht (caligula reclines as huge obelisk figure). Caligula's boat bridge is also symbolic (Sally spelled out with rocks). Caligula was encrypting information relating to his Greek and Egyptian incarnations, as well as sending messages to future incarnations ("It's ok to remember your past. You weren't all THAT bad.").
In the latest incarnation, a young boy in the early seventies buries a plastic toy mid-sixties Mustang fastback in the sand on the shore of Tripp Lake, Maine (little grey cottage across from the island) and leaves it buried overnight, only to realize the next morning he can't remember where he buried it, and then recovers it when some other kid digs it up three years later.

This Secret Alchemical Tree is a practical system rather than your typical "self-contained conceptual system" which are often the basis for blinds and completely ineffective systems. It is effective as an archetypal filing cabinet in a fashion similar to that claimed by those who study the published Qabalah ("half-hearted" system "missing hands and feet").
Thus, Aries only has two cards assigned: The Emperor and the Hanged Man. Study both cards and you will see the symbolic hints, as well as information relating the idea that Emperor = Human Sacrifice. Even a modern president in a democratic nation is a bit of a human sacrifice.
Aries is the "pure energy" of complete abstraction, with no decimal sequence number assigned. Mathematically, it is infinite limit.

Taurus stack: this one is clearly Babylonian, as the twin rivers of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers flow out of the Taurus Mountains in the Fool, the Tiger on that Fool's leg symbolizing Baghdad. The Hierophant and The Fool trumps are the two cards assigned here in the Secret Alchemical Tree. Aries was the Fire element of pure abstraction, symbolized by perfectly straight lines, all running parallel. Taurus is the initiative behind the element of Water, and geometrically it is the point as archetype - bullseye verses "arieseye" - right eye verses left; above the right shoulder verses left (further explained in Gemini). The decimal sequence number assigned to Taurus is zero, symbolized by The Fool.

Touch is a common symbol for Taurus. It is the primordial touch which brings forth light in the universes. The very top of the capstone of a pyramid is Taurus, and the four-sided base of the capstone is Cancer, with Gemini symbolized by the triangles "born of Taurus" which make up the sloping sides of the pyramid shape.

Pisces has two places in the tree. One centered at the very top of the tree, and the other at the very bottom. The fish swimming above the other fish in the Pisces symbol hints at this amongst other ideas.
Pisces at the top of the tree is the star on top of the Christmas tree. It is the point archetype in the real which resonates effectively with the primordial point in Taurus - the center point of the solar disk - which is important in meditation. Pisces at the top of the tree symbolizes the solute dream, or dream which has yet to unfold for you in Gemini ("the twins") directly below Pisces in the tree.
What you think of, or what you are doing before you go to bed at night, or what you were involved with during the day, often will attract to you specific dreams as you sleep. Dream of course is a symbolic analogy, so the dreams you attract might turn out to be real encounters occurring where you go about your business at any hour. When Sally reaches into the garden pool to the fish, she is reaching towards dreams.
Reaching towards dreams is symbolized by biological perspective Pisces at the bottom of the tree, with the solar disk in the mandibles of the khephra beetle in The Moon. One focuses to a distant point, the primordial point of Taurus being infinitely distant, thus Taurus as a primordial initiative responds by "tossing a book your way", as the primordial point at infinite distance cannot be had. When the eyes are observing out to infinite distance, they are relaxed as completely as possible (Bates). The sharper your distance vision, the more responsive will be your imagination.
Pisces at the top of the tree has no decimal sequence number assigned, and the Aeon is the only card placed here. Ophiuchus is symbolic of one solute dream, the serpent symbolizing a black hole, which devours stars.

The nose is key. This is the touch interface with meditation that allows for keeping the mind awake into trance. This is symbolized by the solar disk physically held in the mandibles. The center point in the solar disk is infinitely distant visionary focus, which is only achieved when the mind is blank to the point of seeing total black, which is only achieved with total relaxation. Taurus is not centered in the tree as Pisces is, as perfect focus is impossible. In Don 't Be Afraid of the Dark, Sally sites up in bed or on the couch imagining total darkness; anxiety keeps her from touch the teddy bear's nose.

This stack is placed in the 13 stack tree in the place corresponding to Daath in the published Qabalah. It's decimal sequence number is 10. As Taurus corresponded with the mathematical initiative of multiplication (point is the geometric basis for multiplication), Gemini becomes the functional expression of this where "all the points terminate". This is infinite function or matrix analogy. As Taurus initiates via prime movement - a Warer elemental initiation - the line manifests as archetype in Gemini as manifest movement in time. This is Solvent function.
Card Stack Sequence, top to bottom:
The Sun (The hill is a left breast, placing the Sun itself in Aries)
Queen of Cups
Queen of Swords
Queen of Wands
Queen of Disks
Ten of Cups
Ten of Swords
Ten of Wands
Ten of Disks (the complete secret alchemical tree is implied here)

The point is the archetype for destination, and this is the basis of destiny. All destiny resides in the Gemini Matrix, the solvent logos. Destiny operates via the principle of attraction. Twins meet in destiny.
It is the curved line that brings two points together.

Ace of Cups
Ace of Swords
Ace of Wands
Ace of Disks
In Cancer, one-dimensional Gemini's line becomes two-dimensional Cancer's curve and plane. This is the beginning of the finite singular dimension. The decimal sequence number assigned to Cancer is one. Mathematically Cancer is set analogy.
This is the Cardinal nature or energy of calm reserve, therefore Cancer is Earth elemental energy. The calm, dark pool becomes the grounding of meditation and of the talents of Leo. Sleep, calm, relaxation, and meditation replenish one's "reflecting pool" as the knight in the Chariot does, and Sally even has one in Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. Cancer "is the primordial vehicle" because of its constitutional nature. One elevates a block of stone or crystal ball in establishing one's visionary chariot. One stands an obelisk on its base here.

Two of Cups
Two of Swords
Two of Wands
Two of Disks
Leo initiates at an atomic level. It is also the archetype for talent, thus it is called Strength or Lust in tarot; Leo "is old school" verses "novel" Aquarius. The mathematical nature assigned to Leo is addition, and it's decimal sequence number is two. Leo is also the establishment of three dimensionality, thus the "experience" of Lust.
