RE: Occupy Monsanto happening now!
dolphin Wrote:Food Inc.
Category: Health
Documentary Description:
For most Americans, the ideal meal is fast, cheap, and tasty. Food, Inc. examines the costs of putting value and convenience over nutrition and environmental impact. Director Robert Kenner explores the subject from all angles, talking to authors, advocates, farmers, and CEOs, like co-producer Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Michael Pollan (The Omnivore’s Dilemma), Gary Hirschberg (Stonyfield Farms), and Barbara Kowalcyk, who’s been lobbying for more rigorous standards since E. coli claimed the life of her two-year-old son. The filmmaker takes his camera into slaughterhouses and factory farms where chickens grow too fast to walk properly, cows eat feed pumped with toxic chemicals, and illegal immigrants risk life and limb to bring these products to market at an affordable cost. If eco-docs tends to preach to the converted, Kenner presents his findings in such an engaging fashion that Food, Inc. may well reach the very viewers who could benefit from it the most: harried workers who don’t have the time or income to read every book and eat non-genetically modified produce every day. Though he covers some of the same ground as Super Size Me and King Korn, Food Inc. presents a broader picture of the problem, and if Kenner takes an understandably tough stance on particular politicians and corporations, he’s just as quick to praise those who are trying to be responsible – even Wal-Mart, which now carries organic products. That development may have more to do with economics than empathy, but the consumer still benefits, and every little bit counts.

RE: Occupy Monsanto happening now!
With the FED, Monsanto, Wall Street and so many other corrupt powers in control, we are in a world of hurt.
It was good that the occupy movement had the potential to make change without violence. But, there were too many bases to cover and their message was confusing.
It looks like the only way for real change will be with bloodshed. I fear that that will be the next step in the pursuit of real change.
Being popular at LOP is like sitting at the "cool table" in a MENTAL HOSPITAL.

Anyone protesting or resisting GMOs has my support! I've been avoiding, and thereby, boycotting GMOs for several years now. I try to inform others of the dangers of GMOs and encourage people to buy organic, or better yet, start their own organic garden. The best way to be sure the food you eat is healthy and safe is to grow it yourself.

I totally agree. It's sad that we can't make the world a better place without violence, but TPTB refuse to allow the peaceful to be the change we wish to see. TPTB don't want a better world for all, only a better world for them, with the people as their mindless slaves. They can only push us so far...history repeats itself, and revolution is on the horizon once TPTB have gone too far. IMO, they have already gone too far, but most Americans, at least, preffer to keep their heads buried in the sand, or pascified by the propaganda.

I used to think this way... but now I'm not so sure... I think what we're all fighting against is a many-headed beast... so a multiple-pronged attack is best... OWS has all my support and respect, and I think they are a necessary part of the battle. I know certainly the next time I am invited, I will show up to back them, whereas before I figured (eh....they're just a tiny piece of the puzzle, why bother?) Maybe the trick is finding a piece to devote all energy to? For some it is OWS. For others it's the Tea Party. For others Labor unions. Or making films. Or being kind to everyone else who may be fighting for your rights.

still no links from you?

That tidbit was archived into my files years ago and is only a very small portion of an article.
Read my sig.
I doubt even my most avid detractors in this forum would complain about my posting those facts which of course points to a selective agenda to censor the information I post.

yeah...whatever. i just noticed your thread in which Disturbed was after you to post links for material posted here as a means to keep him out of legal trouble. i'm confused as to why you wouldn't comply. this particular case may not be valid if there is no link available....i've run into that several times.
i really don't get the impression that anyone is trying to censor your info....it may be something personal about you some peeps don't like. i couldn't care less....just curious if you have any intent to do as D has asked.

The MISTAKE I see is they identify at all with the occupy movement they would do much better standing on their own and I think people would be more attracted to the anti gmo than they would be for anything occupy.

Too bad it won't get much traction.
A small California biotech company, Epicyte, in 2001 announced the development of genetically engineered corn which contained a spermicide which made the semen of men who ate it sterile. At the time Epicyte had a joint venture agreement to spread its technology with DuPont and Syngenta, two of the sponsors of the Svalbard Doomsday Seed Vault. Epicyte was since acquired by a North Carolina biotech company. Astonishing to learn was that Epicyte had developed its spermicidal GMO corn with research funds from the US Department of Agriculture, the same USDA which, despite worldwide opposition, continued to finance the development of Terminator technology, now held by Monsanto.
In the 1990’s the UN’s World Health Organization launched a campaign to vaccinate millions of women in Nicaragua, Mexico and the Philippines between the ages of 15 and 45, allegedly against Tentanus, a sickness arising from such things as stepping on a rusty nail. The vaccine was not given to men or boys, despite the fact they are presumably equally liable to step on rusty nails as women.
Because of that curious anomaly, Comite Pro Vida de Mexico, a Roman Catholic lay organization became suspicious and had vaccine samples tested. The tests revealed that the Tetanus vaccine being spread by the WHO only to women of child-bearing age contained human Chorionic Gonadotrophin or hCG, a natural hormone which when combined with a tetanus toxoid carrier stimulated antibodies rendering a woman incapable of maintaining a pregnancy. None of the women vaccinated were told.
It later came out that the Rockefeller Foundation along with the Rockefeller’s Population Council, the World Bank (home to CGIAR), and the United States’ National Institutes of Health had been involved in a 20-year-long project begun in 1972 to develop the concealed abortion vaccine with a tetanus carrier for WHO. In addition, the Government of Norway, the host to the Svalbard Doomsday Seed Vault, donated $41 million to develop the special abortive Tetanus vaccine. 12
Dolphin,
You work hard, and there's no denying that. You have collected a great wealth of information. You know a lot.
Your collection methods seem sloppy, I guess. You forgot to keep track of your online links and your printed sources. A general caveat in your signature isn't enough to cover your backside. Why risk lawsuits?
At any rate, you need to cite what you post if you did not write it yourself. Otherwise, it IS plagiarism...plain and simple.

RE: Occupy Monsanto happening now!
Without media on your side, little will be accomplished. Worse, media can paint a movement in a bad light with several spins being placed upon it, seizing upon the ones that take root.
The "occupy...." moniker has been degraded in the eyes of most people.
Any attempt to bring about an awareness must include strong leadership, easily grasped bullet points which are driven home, and enough cash behind it all to force it past any controlled media opposition.
One thing they do have on their side is a minor awareness in the back of their minds thanks to documentaries and negative articles.
And finally, doing something. anything, is laudable and deserving of respect. I wish them well.

In a channeling it was said that we can eat even poison and be living. All you need to do in these times is ask for protection so your food is not contaminated. But of course you can't be a murder or you obviously will not be helped. Only people that asks and are high vibration get the help.
This helping only to high vibration people will be the norm in the chaos ahead these coming months when all the structures collapse (social, economic and religious).
Interesting times ahead. I eat only fruits, vegetables, dry fruits, and "bless them before eating them" and also ask for help to cleanse any toxins on it.
Everybody do whatever you please. I just say what I do.
