BEAUMONT - From Beaumont Police Department - On Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 9:52pm, Officer S. Boudreaux and his partner Officer Shoemaker had issued a verbal warning to several subjects that were popping fireworks on the corner of W. Virginia and Park St.

Officer Boudreaux was in the driver`s seat of his patrol unit and began traveling north bound on Park St. at a slow rate of speed. He had the front left window rolled down while he was driving. Officer Boudreaux then heard something hit him in the upper left area of his chest and at the same time he felt something hit him in the chest, striking his ballistic vest. The object then struck the inside of his right upper thigh and caused a brief, stinging pain to his leg.

He stopped the patrol car thinking someone threw something into the car. Officer Boudreaux exited his patrol car and shined his flashlight on the floorboard to see what had hit him. He observed a bullet laying on the floorboard. It was a bullet with a soft-tip, not in a casing. Officer Boudreaux's ballistic vest was damaged as the bullet struck the button on his left breast pocket. Just below the button was a small tear in his ballistic vest carrier. His ink pen in the pocket was broken and the bottom half of the pen was shattered.

Karma. Just because he was outfitted, armed and paid to kill by the government doesn't make it morally right. He will pay for his transgressions against natural law one way or another.
