Istanbul (CNN) -- A Syrian official said his country's forces might have thought the Turkish jet it downed last week was from Israel

"As you know there is a country called Israel there and as you know this Zionism country's planes are very similar and because they both are from the same factory, from the U.S., maybe Syria thought it was an Israeli plane," Syrian Information Minister Omran Al Zubi told the Turkish A Haber channel on Wednesday.

Normal procedure is to contact the aircraft and warn them not shoot them down. regardless . They just HAD to put the " other " perputual victims into the propaganda .

WRONG!!!! That is a total lie. Syria would not attack an Israeli air force plane if they knew it was Israeli. They' wouldn't DARE! Syria is now trying to appease and confuse Turkey in order to get Turkey to back down so Syria doesn't have to pay the consequences for their act of war against Turkey.

A military jet flying below the radar at Mach 1 straight at your Sovereign territory with 1 kilometre to go gives little time to determine if it is in fact hostile ! Every country on this planet would have done the same thing , shoot it down and ask questions later ! It could have been carrying a Nuke for all they would know . When should they react , AFTER it delivers its load ?

Its no good tho trying to make them see sense , this is all bullshit and EVERYONE knows it .

Probably a good thing in disguise tho , the ORCS that run the US and Israel need to see the man !

Yeah! It appears the spinmeisters haven't settled on their 'official' version yet.

However THEY have apparently admitted the plane that became an underwater aquatic sanctuary was found in Syrian waters - or have they changed that as well?

Maybe to make it more dramatic they will tell us the plane was shot over international waters and crashed just over the Syrian line?
