My brother beat the piss out of a guy after being sprayed directly in the eyes with pepper spray.... it can be done

So the fact he was wearing a full suit of bullet proof material and a helmet....yeah, more rhetoric. Forum's full of hot air.

You're right, he was so well armed and protected that civilians should have no means of defending themselves because it'd be pointless.

You just won me over.

Not only that, but perp was in full battle rattle (helmet, vest, pro mask, etc) and had 4 weapons on him (AR-15, 12 gauge and 2 handguns)...people said he never reloaded so he more then likely had extended clips or banana clips...plus throw in tear gas, on top of a theatre full of civilians...good f*cking luck, maybe rambo but not joe blow that has a CCW, fail

Someone could have TRIED
And full battle rattle doesn't cover knees

"fail"...well, I guess you showed us all who is so much smarter and knows exactly what would happen... with your sophomoric flippant response...

thanks for that...but I don't buy it....

So, if you were next to this guy, and you had a handgun, you would have been unable to do anything against him? Well, I bet I could have, and would have...made the attempt, at least. And kevlar is not proof against getting slammed hard when shot, and injured, or even killed if he's hit in the right place. Your response reeks of "pussy"...

A brave man (Or woman) with a gun (or without one, even) can do a lot. A sheople can't do anything but sit there like a sheep and get shot. An armed society is a polite society, and taking away the people's guns only makes it so that only criminals have guns. Duh.

They will use this event to attempt to take away your right to keep and bear arms, to protect you and your family, and I suppose you will meekly agree to that, trading your freedom for the illusion of security, right?

so who is the "FAIL"???

Actually I support concealed carry. I just don't think in this case it would have made a f*cking difference unless you also have FLIR and a gasmask.

Ps I'm all for people arming themselves but in this case it would have just caused a lot more causalties...in the military we call it "situational awareness"

We won't know that for sure now will we because our gov't. has convinced people that gun owners are bad.

If the shooter knew there was a high likelihood of many armed patrons in the theater, he would most likely have re-thought his strategy of going in and shooting the place up.

And that goes for most robberies, as well.

This^^^ and if they take your guns you can expect more and more of this type of behavior. The only people with guns will be the violent criminals and psycho clones. They will no everyone is defenseless, even in their homes and neighborhoods.

So with him wearing body armor, tear gas and smoke filling the scene of the tragedy, what if someone did fire back through the smoke and chaos and hit more innocent people? You clowns amuse the f*ck out of me on a daily basis, hear of backstop and ballistics? Even if you hit him chances are you're going to hit someone else. Now what would that give the gun control pundits? You have brains, exercise them now and then.

Maybe... I agree that MOST people would be panicked and blinded and not thinking, but still... All that was needed was ONE guy with a sidearm, with a cool head, maybe a veteran, he drops to the ground as soon as the shit starts hitting the fan and gets whatever cover there might be - even a dead body - he waits a moment for the perp to be turned with his attention on other targets, and puts one round into the guy's head.... BAM!

Problem SOLVED.

It sure could have cut down on the body count.

This isn't the movies...you've clearly never been in combat or anything resembling it, this isn't hollywood and you're not rambo (or gi jane)...more then likely since you aren't properly trained you would have gotten yourself or others killed, could you get a clear line of fire in a crowded, chaotic mob that is trampling over each other to get to safety? My respsonse wasn't a "pussy" response, its called reality and I pray to God if we're in the same room and somebody comes in shooting 5.56, you're no where around me, sure a properly trained soldier, police officer, swat, someone like that can have a chance at diffusing the situation, but you john wayne types are nothing but bullet sponges

That scenario yes but like you said most people are not "that guy".

One moviegoer with even basic wrestling knowledge could have changed everything. I have to disagree with the gun theory on the basis that it's dark and dangerous for anyone to fire a gun in a crowded theater.
