(FOX Nation) -- Facebook is refusing to take down a page on its website dedicated to pedophilia.

At the top of the page is a close-up shot of a very young girl walking alone down an alleyway. In the distant background is a blurry picture of a man with an open trench coat. His hands are in his pockets.

Under the picture are the words: “Pedophiles are people too.” In smaller letters is: “It’s all in the title.” The person who created this page on Aug. 14 doesn’t appear to have included any text, and there are no suggestive pictures of either children or grown-ups.

But 21 people have “liked” the page and hundreds have engaged in conversations about pedophilia, or sex with children. Many of the people responding were appalled that the page still exists.

One freak wrote: “You know you [sic] skilled when you can fit 10 kids in 1 self storage box.” To that comment, a guy who identified himself as Mike Haney replied, “Who the hell would EVER [his emphasis] make a group like this? Come to my house and I’ll show you much lead a pedophile can hold.”

Joe Mazzilli, a private investigator in New York City, reported the pedophile page to Facebook last Friday. Mazzilli is a decorated former NYPD detective who now works as a child advocate and tracks down missing and abused children.

“I think it’s disgusting,” Mazzilli told me in a phone interview. “Where do you draw the line? This is encouraging sexual acts that could lead to the deaths of minors.”

This was Facebook’s e-mailed reply to Mazzilli: “Hi, Thanks for your recent report of a potential violation on Facebook. After reviewing your report, we are not able to confirm that the specific page violates Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities.” It was signed “Vicki.”

(But people are celebrating the latter like it's FREEDOM at last delivered by the CIA operation known as FaceBook.) I'll never understand why people judge themselves to be free if they're allowed to put themselves on a list. That's not freedom. LOL> I keep typing "freedoom".

I wonder if they mention that "it's in their DNA" (like all the pop songs these days) and they can't help it if they're attracted to younger people because they "were born this way" (GaGa). That is the latest thing for pedophiles. Since the argument follows popular song lyrics and media messages, it is obviously TRASH as indicated in the comment below. agree

They're calling it a genetic condition. I thought getting sexually molested while young had something to do with it.

so there are two ways to look at this: (1) either Facebook is really that screwed up and refuses to shut down a legitimate pro-pedophilia page, or (2) the page itself is, like another poster said, a trap, possibly set up by law enforcement somewhere to catch pedophiles.

The optimist in me would like to believe it's the latter, but were it the former I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Pedophilia should be on par with rape and murder, in that its unacceptable and no 'rights' should be established for the offenders. Too much political correctness.

Yes, some "little" pedophiles are arrested.
But when it comes to networks with traffic, torture, murder, hunting(!) of children, investigations are systematically sabotaged.

Well it could be a fishing page but... seems to me there's enough legit pedo sites they could target. I personally think anything to do with pedo's should not be on the web or anywhere, other than in prison. Those people are NOT people, they are part of the recipe for the scum of the earth.
