Calling all people who have a heart and would not like to see another childrens heart care center closed.

You may be able to sign this from the USA but I think this is more for UK residents - however a bit of international recognition may not go un-noticed.

The petition needs 100,000 signatures in 11 days.

Responsible department: Department of Health

The JCPCT has put forward option B as the preferred configuration for the future of Paediatric Cardiac Surgery. This excludes the unit at Glenfield in Leicester. This decision was on the back of a public consultation process where the public, when asked to consider the options, chose the strongest option as scored by the review team - Option A. The review process needs to be looked at again before a final decision is made on the back of the new scoring and weighting. Everyone should be assured that all the current centres Quality is above the standard required before they are asked to comment on what is important to them - for example travel times

Thanks for trying - This needs to get out internationally and get people to wake up to the things going on in their own towns and cities... it is so disheartening to know that so much money can be spent on bailouts and attacking other countries - yet we cannot save heart care for kids.

It is not good enough to say that a child can be whisked off half way across the country for surgery. These centers should be close to EVERY major town or city, if not EVERY hospital.

The amount of money going down the pan on ludicrous things in the UK and internationally is against every single one of our human rights.
