banana Picked my first cucumber of the season today. Updated with Pics...
Went out to point out to my wife how well they're doing and all the blooms, she moved some leaves and there it was. Got 10-12 to be picked in the next 10 days or so...finally doing something right.

My cantaloupe are taking over, bell peppers and serranos are next. I even planted corn, just as long as I can keep the fn dogs from eating the sprouts should be good. Best feeling in the world to go to your garden and pick your own salad.

It really is.

We're cutting up the cuc tonight for cucumber salad...I'm having major issues with my tomatoes, they're splitting and ripening too quickly...what I've learned is it's probably too much water, but they're on the same drip system I built for my standing gardens where everything else is. I get one right and it screws something else up, I need a new plan. chuckle

It really is.

Mine died last year, so did my zucchini. Aphids got to them and I didn't react properly. I also didn't water correctly. Now I've got some flowers that are natural aphid repellent planted strategically. Watering once a day for 5 mins, broadcast, and fertilizer every 10 days.

I feel your pain MC...Heartflowers for your cucs.

It really is.

RE: Picked my first cucumber of the season today.
I got lettuces, (red cabbage, spring onions, from late last year) coming up, and toms, cucumbers, carrots planted but still waiting. Strawberries seem to be doing okay.

But this year is harder than last year with all this bloomin, lovely rain! But.....

Whether the weather be fine,
Or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold,
Or whether the weather be hot,
We'll weather the weather
Whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not!

I'll let you know when they're ready, it'll be a few weeks but no pesticides, hand picked seeds.

Going to go plant habanero and more jalapeño now...I may have actually successfully planted a papaya seed, seeing some growth.

It really is.
