banana Police Officer Found Guilty of Tasing Fellow Officer
Pig on pig taser violence ! I wonder how long it will be before an arbitrator orders the department to re-hire this thug AGAIN ?

Former Boynton Beach officer found guilty of improperly firing Taser

Palm Beach Post Staff Report

WEST PALM BEACH —

Former Boynton Beach police officer David Coffey has been sentenced to one year of probation for firing a Taser near the right ear of a fellow officer.

SNIP

Coffey, 31, was arrested last May after he sneaked up behind a fellow officer, placed his department-issued M-26 Taser behind her ear and activated it for a few seconds. Officer Rachel Loy subsequently was treated for hearing loss.

SNIP

Coffey has a history of using a Taser improperly. In 2007, he was fired by the police department after an investigation found he attacked a suspected intoxicated driver in a holding cell and later, after the man had been handcuffed, stunned him four times with a Taser.

He was fired, but rehired after an arbitrator determined he could get his job back.

He was fired again in November after an internal probe found he used unnecessary force when he slammed a restaurant patron into a video-game console.

A NY court just ruled that cities can now fire pigs without having to consult a union or the arbitrator. I like unions and all, but this is one thing the unions should have no say over

Okay this dude was fired TWICE from the department and an arbitrator decided both times he should get his job back.

I think the arbitrator/s should lose their jobs.

It also doesn't say if he was fired after this accident just that he was on probation--I'm assuming and hoping he was.

Sounds like he wasn't fired for attacking the fellow pig . If any one of us lowly "civilians" tased a cop it would be a felony assault on a public servant and we'd be headed for prison ...

We only see the spillover.

Just imagine what goes on day in and day out.

It would boggle the mind.

Look at who they choose to become LEOs!

Thuggish dumbed down gorillas and hard assed he-women with control issues.

ALL of them are on the take because it is so easy to get away with. Unspoken code says you don't talk either.

Cui Bono?

It says he did this to the female officer to get back at her for an earlier "incident". I'm thinking she ratted him out on another incident of actions not appropriate for a police officer.

I bet he was just lovely to work with.Hiding3

I don't know if this is that big a deal .. the arbitrator usually comes in to play *after* the cop is fired, not before .

I.E. ... all of these cases where police depts are forced to re-hire thug cops months *after* they were fired.
