Positive Thinking
The idea of thinking positive in the face of doom may to some be an excellent idea, but to me I'm not so sure. I mean yes do think positive about the positive stuff, the stuff like when my youngest son laughs it sounds like he's had half a bottle of vodka and someones just told him a dirty joke about a hooker and a saxophone. Or the fact that the world is full of loads of fantastical amazing things, a new wonder around every corner. Good stuff with good feelings is what it's all about, but idea of thinking positive in the light of something that most certainly isn't might not be such a good idea. In fact by thinking that way you could in fact be putting yourself in danger or lead to taking unnecessary risks, risks that may have been avoided had you thought differently.

Now I'm not saying that we should all turn emo and suicidal in the most dramatic of ways, about the things that you can actually have an impact on. Lots of people have money problems, and housing problems and health problems and ............. and......... and......
But there are times when you have to have gloom for doom, thinking negative for the right reasons is OK and is sometimes the more appropriate resolution to the impending shit you have thrust into your view.

And being angry is OK too. In fact its not only OK its f*cking necessary for our basic survival in our most mundane of tasks. Yes I should be verbally abusive and negative to some arsehole who just came flying out of a side street and we had to slam on the brakes, because I have my kids in the car and he could have killed my entire family, why should I let that go? But we are under the assumption that we must think positive in these situations, to be calm and collected and not to rise to the bait and so forth.

But is that really the solution??? To let something go that is clearly unacceptable because that is for your benefit??? I'm not so sure, it sounds to me like that's more for their benefit than ours. In fact by not being negative about the negative aren't we in fact giving a green light to all the bastards who do bastard things to continue??? If we don't give negative to the negative are we not acknowledging that what they are doing is in fact acceptable behaviour???

If you look at it that way thinking positive is can in essence be another type of control, in order to subdue you natural reaction to go ape shit about stuff that you should be angry about??
So what about the reaction to your anger, the way people stare when you raise your voice, and how you are made to feel about your clearly acceptable response? Well you are made to feel like you are actually the one in the wrong, how strange is that?

This is because nearly everyone has been given the same advice..... think positive.....
They have been brainwashed into believing that it is in fact you that is in the wrong because you made a scene, that your lack of positive thinking is a fault, but its not and it is them that have become docile and compliant, and often it is them that get the worst shit. People the world over often wonder why its the evil fuckers that seem to get the best out of life, and that's because they ain't following the think positive rule.

So the next time someone f*cks you over and your told to look on the bright side or let it go, take a good look at what your actually allowing to happen and then do something about it. Then you can think positive about the good that you did by shouting and bawling at someone that really f*cking deserved it, instead of being another victim to a school of thought that allows arseholes to walk all over you, because thinking positive will make you an easy target for the most negative people of all.

" think positive" in a world of chaos does sound retarded,
But look at it like this.
Is there any benefit to yelling at yourself in the mirror?
We are a connected family and if you put out negative energy,
Eventually it's going to bounce back into your life and catch you again.

Every time I hear "Think positive" I want to reply "Okay, I'm positive things will get worse before they get better, and I'm positive humans in general are horrible people."

Drives me nuts to hear that. Heartflowers

Even if it does nothing but cause everyone to look I'm still gonna shout at them, at the very least they will be dying of embarrassment.

I totally agree. If positive means to never think of negative...then negative goes unwatched. I don't wish anyone to tell me what or how to think. It is too related to mind control project. We need to not ignore the negative things that are going on in the world. That's how we got here in positive land in the first place.

Because Deep down ,I have decided that we all come to these places to learn life hax, in effect how to win in every situation.
Some people mistake this and actually hunker down, that is a mistake and a common fallacy.

I hate cliche's but:

The lovely thing about positive thinking is, it remains a choice really. I try to but cannot keep it up always... but i do try!

I don't know there is just something special about lifting someone elses mood up. Few wil understand.

Like I said though think positive when needed but don't go letting fuckers get away with shit just because it makes people feel uncomfortable because you have acted in an appropriate way. Being angry can be a very good thing and we should be more aggressive toward the aggressors.
