Car salesmen don't need a license from the state. Businesses don't have the same deal when dealing with liquidity and the Fed Res as do banks.
Overdrafts are the consumers fault UNTIL the banks re-arrange the posting times for their purchases that caused the overdraft which were ALWAYS made to post to get the most fees from the consumer.

I was in banking. I was there when all the changes happened. Banks found other ways to charge and in whole, these changes are much more fair.

Dis-connect is what I've seen from some people not understanding the problems normal people were having and how they were being preyed upon. That's why some people don't want Romney, there is a big disconnect in how he sees things work and the way the little people sees things work.

You are allowed to disagree but to not accept that people were being preyed upon is just shilling.

Scenario: moved house, moved all my new bill payment to bank account 2. Cancelled all bill payments from account 1.
Bank doubles up and pays out both lots of money from account 2. The resulting bounced payment charges resulting on almost £300.

I contact point point out their error and insist they honour all incoming payments as any overdraft is due to their stripping my account.

They do this, but it took 2 over two months to sort the whole mess out.

Their payment to me for their error? £30 Why is my error more 10 X as expensive as theirs, when their error was more time consuming and costly to fix? And you say they're not predatory?

Scenario 2: I filled out a form to transfer money from one account to another. I checked at the counter that the details were correct. They transferred the money from my empty account in error into the account that had money. They charged £25 for the overdraft, then another £25 to put the money back, because they were linked accounts that allowed the bank to transfer to cover any unauthorised overdrafts. that's £50, despite the fact that the bank held my funds, albeit in another partner account. Again I got my money back, but this time no compensation payment, despite that paperwork that showed clearly it was their error. Not predatory?

On both occasions I had more than enough funds in my main account to cover all payments This is legalised extortion.
