banana Professor patents way to stop textbook sharing by students
The college student tradition of sharing or selling used textbooks could come to a screeching halt based on a professor's new patent. That patent would require students to buy access codes with their textbooks to join in mandatory online discussion boards — and failure to participate would mean lower grades.

Why do we NEED to be "Educated" anyways?
All this learned "Education" wrought the great byproducts of debt, isolation from family,Lifetime enslavement.
What are we being "educated" into being?
Cogs on a slavers wheel.
The greatest idiots I ever come across are college certified stupid.

I hear ya. The problem with colleges is that they are a business and are for profit.
You need that useless degree so Mr. Tenure Professor of liberal arts can pay for his second vacation home and his BMW.

'Tis only a flesh wound

They already have this.

Oh and...this is really a classy way of prohibiting used textbook sales (which again they already have). They make you buy a code for 20 bucks.

It's taco madness I tells ya!

It's funny you mention that. I had a boss (professor) that sold a consulting business that did nothing (no clients, no employees, no nothing!) for 2 million bucks. He just printed up a phony pamphlet and used a going concern and voila! Funny story and I probably shouldn't be telling it. I'm not sharing who he was nor will I say what NGO he was/is associated with.
