Prophecy of the Popes
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophecy_of_the_Popes
The Prophecy of the Popes, attributed to Saint Malachy, is a list of 112 short phrases in Latin. They purport to describe each of the Roman Catholic popes (along with a few anti-popes), beginning with Pope Celestine II (elected in 1143) and concluding with the successor of current pope Benedict XVI, a pope described in the prophecy as "Peter the Roman", whose pontificate will end in the destruction of the city of Rome.

A supervolcanic eruption would do it -
A restive "super volcano" west of Naples is raising nervousness in the local Italian population
The ground of the Campi Flegrei ("burning fields"), also known as the Phlegraean Fields, has risen more in recent weeks than it has in a long time.

So is this another self fulfilling prophecy? They think the volcano is getting ready to blow, so they play musical popes to ensure that the right dude is at the helm if it does?

Good catch! That would make Rome a literal lake of fire.

Well, yes...
It turns out that 'heaven' is bigger than anybody really thought it was...

Prophecy of the Popes
The Fatima prophecy has the Pope fleeing Rome under a hail of bullets during a civil war in Italy, escaping in a car to France, where according to Nostradamus he dies.
Also, there's a prophecy of the Pope going to Russia to consecrate Russians (I suspect it's actually part of a peace plan, as Russia will have already invaded and briefly occupied Hungary just before this), whch fails. This is just before the Russian invasion of Western Europe.
So my timeline would be something like:
- Global economic collapse
- Russia returns to Communism
- Russia eyes up the West, resurrecting an old USSR salami-slicing plan of invasion
- Seccessionist movement in ethnic Hungarian province of Vojvodina in Serbia sees ethnic conflict, prompting trouble between Hungary and Serbia
- Russian invasion of Hungary to stem their conflict with Serbia
- Russians pull out of Hungary, but this is a trick -- they'll soon be back
- Pope goes to Russia. Prophecy says to consecrate Russians, but I suspect this is the prophet's misinterpretation of a peace summit
- Pope's peace move fails
- Civil war in Italy instigated by Communists due to economic collapse
- Pope flees. Bishops, Cardinals and Priests die in the carnage. Pope flees to France
- Pope is assassinated in France by rebels
- New Pope is elected in Avignon

War is so last century, the new means of domination is by stealth, view the growth of the European Union.
Russia will join the Euro one day -

I fully expect some sort of engineered currency crisis with the £ and emergency entry into the Euro.
Future Bank of England Governor Mark Carney states his commitment to reforming and restructuring the Bank of England within five years. Carney speaks in testimony before the U.K. Parliament.

There may very well be an engineered crisis, but the prophecies are quite clear -- there will be a Russian invasion of Europe from the East and North, with an Islamic invasion from the South.
And Russia is communist when it happens; not for the 1st time, but a 2nd time.
