This could be confusing to people, since I'm a Christian myself,
but I think that folks who look for an historical Christ are in
the same category as people who look for Noah's Ark, and the
Garden of Eden.

It is probably a sin of idolatry to seek the Divine in material/mundane
forms, except with one very special exception; to seek after the
sacredness of the matrix itself. That would be a key to unraveling
the Mystery religions, of which Christianity is a part.
