Poll shows Russians 'irritated or indifferent' to Pussy Riot case

While there have been protests outside the court in support of Pussy Riot, they were joined by those who were hoping for a lengthier sentence.

An opinion poll of Russians released by the independent Levada research group on Friday illustrates how many ordinary Russian feel about the case:

6% had sympathy with the women
51% said they found nothing good about them or felt irritation or hostility the rest were unable to say or were indifferent

Valentina Ivanova, 60, a retired doctor, said outside the courtroom:

What they did showed disrespect towards everything, and towards believers first of all.

Maria Butilno, 60, who held an icon and said Pussy Riot had insulted the faithful went on to say: Evil must be punished.

In New York 6 participants of the action are arrested for Pussy Riot

Six participants of a protest in support of Pussy Riot punk group are arrested in New York on Friday for violation of the rules of carrying out street actions.

Three girls in masks in Pussy Riot style were arrested near consulate general of Russia after they refused to obey to the police prevention. In New York participation in street protests with the closed face is forbidden.

Three more persons were arrested on the way to consulate when they left on the carriageway.

About twenty people take part in protest action which began near the orthodox temple on Manhattan, then proceeded at consulate of Russia and will come to the end to Times Square.

The police of New York blocked the carriageway in a quarter between Fifth Avenue and Madison Street where the Russian consulate is located. Some tens policemen supervise an order, without allowing holding a meeting to fall outside the limits, fenced with a barrier.

Russia at least is a country, you can respect. It can't be said that of the United States. Russia has law and order. Putin has made Russia into a strong nation. Where as America is about to fall into anarchy and disorder. America has lost God and Christianity that made her strong. Now, who do we have as our leader, but the weakest, hateful and most ungodly president ever. America is doom. The dollar will crash and burn and hyperinflation is at our door. America will suffer greatly. And food prices will be too expensive. Sorry folks. Russia will one day attack America and succeed. Russia's boot will be on America's neck without any mercy. We can't even track their submarines.

What I hate the most is how America's is the biggest hypocrite country in the world. How it like's to tell other countries what to do. But this country is so evil. How it consistantly favors the worst extreme form of Islam in the middle east and help uproot nations. It promotes abortion and Hollywood garbage across the globe. Christians are disrespected and almost on the verge of persecution in the U.S. Chik fil a can't even operate their own businesses in certain cities now.

America use to be so good, and how the nations, use to love us. But now we are a laughing stock across the globe. The empire is about to fall. Look how the government constantly work to enslave its citizens and won't even protect our borders. Murders are rampant in that area. But thats not enough, America even arms the enemies in mexico with "fast and furious". Obama and congress has even allowed its citizens to be imprison without a trial like where some kind of terrorist. Our rights and freedom are vanishing. Those who worked all their lives will have the pensions robbed, like social security.

And although I think Putin is ruthless and evil, but at least he's a man's man and loves his country. There will be law and order with him. Obama, on the other hand is wimpy and will send America to hell, if he's given another term. He hates America and is arrogant. And the populace blindly votes for him. When America fall, will she deserve it?

Furthermore, Pussy riot are pests that needed to be stomped. How is it that you are able to go to a church and be so disrespectful to God and a nation's belief system. If they would have gotten 7 years, they would have deserved it, even death, for that matter. Although, as a humane person, I think two years imprisonment is very kind. In Islam, they would have been beheaded. America is a joke and should mind their own business in other nations' affairs most of the time. America dosen't even love their citizens.
