The prognosis looks grim and it seems as if the entire complex is a loss and environmental disaster waiting to get worse. But I think I may have a solution of sorts.

Lead.

Start off with helicopter drops of high lead based and quick drying paints. Smear it liberally over the entire complex. Multiple layers of it until it's safe enough for people in radiation gear to get close enough to work. It's going to take multiple thousands of gallons of this to ensure that the complex is covered well enough to be 'safe' to approach.

Once you have the complex covered with the lead based paint enough to where someone in radiation shielding gear can get close to it without dying you create a wall around it higher than the complex itself. On the inside of that wall you need a trench about 20 feet deep as a sort of moat for the cement to extend downwards as well. What you want a bowl effect to happen with that wall. What you are going to do is mix a cement that is high in lead powder (for radiation shielding) and fill that bowl up until the entire complex is covered. If your feeling especially paranoid you can create sheets of lead to place over this and weld the sheets together to completely cover your cement block.

Just a thought. I'm not even sure if it'll work.

Why do you people come on this thread with this kind of comment? If we all know a comet is heading straight for the earth and it looks like it will all be our undoing should we just not talk about it anymore?

Sounds more sensible than covering it with bullshit and lies, which is the only type of covering it currently seems to be getting.
