don't you think that a supreme controlling body if it was the vatican would have protected their man a little better?

That's the whole point, the Vatican and the elite Jewish communities both aided Hitler in some fashion. Not to sound like some kind of denier, far from it, but history is written by the winners. The Vatican is as elite in the hierarchy as it can get. Who knows what their library could contain. Interesting stuff for sure.
