This video says that Romney bought up a bankrupt company that had insane amounts of debt. He received tarp money to keep the company running so there would be no interruption in parts supply to GM. How did he personally profit from this deal? Without him Dephi would have continued on it path of mismanagement and bankruptcy.

Well, this shows 2 things
1. Bailouts have been for a large part a profit machine for scammers.
2. Mitt did that, he knows how to scam and get millions that and other ways.

Like Haliburton and Cheney scammed the government by unlimited war spending.

I think I agree with you about bailouts. Even if Romney had nothing to do with the deal wouldn’t Delphi have received the same or more bailout money anyway?

The Obama campaign captured this unreleased Mitt Romney ad that aired in Toledo yesterday, which is focused on the auto bailout and accuses the president of being the one making false attacks on the Republican - at a time when the GOP nominee has caught heat for a claim he's made about Chrysler moving jobs to China.

The spot also seeks to turn around a weak point for Romney - his Times op-ed headlined "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" - and says Obama is the one who really did that.

"Who will do more for the auto industry? Not Barack Obama," the spot says. "Fact checkers confirm his attacks on Mitt Romney are false. The truth? Mitt Romney has a plan to help the auto industry. He’s supported by Lee Iacocca and the Detroit News. Obama took GM and Chrysler into bankruptcy, and sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China. Mitt Romney will fight for every American job."

Romney has frequently said that the auto bailout was actually the type of bankruptcy process he was referring to and claimed credit for the process in the spring, but backed off for months after Ohio newspaper editorial boards dinged him for it.

The statement in the ad that prompted an Obama statement calling the spot a sign of desperation in Ohio by Romney was the Jeep line - which evokes a false claim Romney repeated on the trail last week that Chrysler is thinking about moving all production to China.
