I think the choice shows Romney knows he losing in the middle and unlike every candidate in modern history he has to move to the right and fire up the base to stay in the hunt. It's worse than Palin in a lot of ways, a right winger with ideas of his own and a record to defend.

I don't understand why Romney would want to take Ryan out of the House of Representatives. Wisconsin is a swing state and Ryan's congressional replacement could easily be a democrat. Ryan also seemed to be a rising star around the capital because of his desire to reform how Washington works. If Romney and Paul win the presidency, then Americans lose a politician (Ryan) after this presidential term ends. Aside from any presidential ambitions from Ryan himself.

You don't need to worry about the latter overly.

The craziest thing so far about Willard's weep pick are the reports that after he picked Ryan, he is going to abandon his support for Ryan's budget. It seems too crazy to be true, but CNN is reporting that's what's the Romney campaign is saying.
