Unless something has changed, this is still something to keep an eye on.

They have started censoring the EQs, and the drilling the are doing is so delicate...

Okay, didn't they initially say the butane was 4,000 feet away and that number shrinks everytime they post it.

I was kidding when I commented the Butane was moving closer when in the span of one day they changed their wording from 1,600 feet away to saying 1,500 feet away.

But now they say they are moving it from adjacent to the brine cavern to a new site 1,000 feet further away.

Adjacent to the brine cavern--WTH?

In the end each other is all we have.

Has anyone posted this, about the test drilling, the evacuations lasting 2 months and the salt dome company paying just a little over $800.00 to the people that are now homeless due to this breach?

All of this is going on just a few miles up the road from New Orleans, and NO ONE here is talking about it! I keep reposting these articles to my facebook, and only a couple of people have taken notice at all, out of dozens of friends and family in the area. Now I know who the sheeple in my life are. Tissue

Louisiana sinkhole deadly contaminants found

Water in Bayou Corne's sinkhole is contaminated with salt water, diesel, chemicals associated with the diesel contaminants such as volatile organic chemicals, ethyl benzene, toluene, xylene and a large number of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons such as naphthalene, anthracene, and pyrene, according to a written statement released Tuesday by the state's primary non-government environmental organization, Louisiana Environmental Action Network (LEAN).

it's $875/week. i live on about $175 less a month. :)

some of those folks just hitched the mobile homes to semi's and split weeks ago. i just hope people don't try to take advantage of the funds like they did during katrina, getting disaster relief when they weren't even there.

hell think about it, the disaster relief fund for katrina was bottom line $2,000 per person. and it took forever for them to disperse it. lots of scammers, too.

It sounds as if they have been using it as a catch-all for dangerous chemicals.

If society fell apart, we - the people would build a new one. Most people are good at their core, and when we see things that are wrong we work to fix them together. Make friends with your neighbors, get involved with your community - because we will rebuild our lives, our communities, from horrible circumstances we always will.

that is disturbing
it's below standards so it's okay short term
that's their logic
who sets the standards? the oil/gas industry?
and, the samples are taken, it doesn't appear to be continuous monitoring
with a wind blowing who is to say that the timing of samples being taken is accurate of what is there an hour before or after or for hours on end? those samples are only accurate at the moment they are taken
and how about water supplies?

Quote:Another bubble site was discovered yesterday between sites #3 and #4 in Grand Bayou. The bubbling is small and will be monitored daily as the others. The sinkhole site is still prohibited; therefore, cleanup in the site is still halted and no recent depth measurements have been taken. The parish has requested Texas Brine to provide a plan for a continuation of the cleanup.

Activity continues at the rig site. For updates from Texas Brine, visit: http://www.texasbrine.com/response/

DNR has provided a site where all involved companies daily reports are posted:

DEQ has provided air sampling data from within the community and site at:
