This story was chosen because this man was a prepper.
I seen countless stories of men killing wives sometimes children over domestic arguements, I think the fact that he was prepper set it to be a more interesting story, and make it look like that preppers are crazy.
No one wants to know that just your average family member will go crazy and kill you one day.
So what. I recall at least 3 sheriffs in the past 5 years killing their wives. What's your point?

buillshit. Nothing ever points to him being unbalanced. He had a modest safety location for where he lived (in the sticks).
"Relatives of Lynnettee Keller, to whom Peter Keller had been married 21 years, told detectives that he is reclusive, according to charging documents.
He would make dinner for guests but “nap” rather than visit, they said."
"One of Keller’s co-workers told detectives Keller owned handguns, high-caliber rifles, scopes, silencers and body armor."

The above could mean nothing or could be an indication of being unbalanced. There's not enough evidence to know anything about what he was like.

People have a tendency to say whatever pleases the authority man. Any other questions, detective?

That might be true, but for this event the novelty factor might be at work rather than an agenda. It went on for a week and gave national news more time to catch on and more drama to sell because of the manhunt.
It's not that I don't believe in setups, but some people are talking as if it's been decided when there isn't enough evidence one way or the other.

I don't believe at all that he was setup. I believe that he was spooked intentionally or got spooked mistakingly

Exactly my point. It's impossible to tell from papers what went on (from the comment that he didn't seem unbalanced based on what was in the news) and no reason to have a clue that we know for sure about any of this. And I can grab the fact that he spent 8 years building a 2-story bunker near a trailhead as being unbalanced, and you can use it as proof that he's sane, and it's still all just reporting in papers and neither of us knows for sure. That's the way this country is set up, to not know or understand, and to think we know whether or not this is a setup or what the heck went on doesn't make sense.

You're right... we wouldn't want to use precedence in any of this, nor common sense. How foolish of me.

Preppers have higher level of paranoia than average person,
plus a lot of guns laying around.
A recipe for trouble.
20,000,000+ Rednecks, Secessionists, Preppers, etc owning an average of 5 guns each and sitting on various stockpiles of ammunition are statistically less likely to commit violent crimes than the average 16-25 year old urban dweller with a single gun and a single magazine
Bringing in george zimmerman doesnt help your argument.
He's basically the same as a prepper.

"preppers - better than commom criminals"?

Zimmerman was a Democrat who bought his first gun after a dog attack. No long guns or other prepper references in his bio.

It demonstrates a point. Every single survivalist and gun nut that gets so much as a parking ticket and contests it in court gets MSM coverage while the demographic responsible for most of this nation's violent crime has the blame cast off of themselves and onto the NRA as facilitators for their violent antics with mostly stolen weapons.
Any time they can take a legitimate gun owner and politicize the crime they will even though they have to wait months and use a microscope to find their needle in a haystack of bloodthirsty killers who's race, legal status or legitimacy of weapon ownership are somehow "untouchable".
