I learned from being in India - there really are people who eat lentils 2 - 3 times a day (the lucky ones).

Learn to cook asian - search google for recipes - with:

lentils
chickpeas
millet

Soak oatmeal 8 hours before you eat it and it's a whole lot more nutritious. We have this for a main meal now.

Even if you can't have a garden, plant somewhere some basil - it grows like a weed. Makes anything taste fantastic. Plus you can eat it for salads.

Also plant lettuce. But don't kill either basil or lettuce - just cut off leaves as you need them.

10 lettuce & some basil can keep you in salads all summer long.

using the old toilet paper tubes for seedling pots, using cardboard from most food boxes in the garden to enrich the soil and attract earthworms.

not eating as much too.
ive trained myself to eat once a day since i was young.
dont know why but now im glad i have.
i go all day not hungry until evening

lately with food prices it is not stretching as far.
yes less food.
better for the body too, less toxins.
but enough to stay alive[/align]

I'm going to rid my bike to save gas in the spring summer and early fall!!

get yourself one of these chinese 2-stroke bike motor kitsfor about $200... makes your bike a serious commuting and errand-running machine. gets between 100-150MPG, goes 35MPH on flat ground. There are 4strokes for twice that, and for a little more than those, you can get an electric that works as a dynamo on downhills and REALLY save money. I use mine for about 90% of my errands now... and its FUN! youll have to check your local ordinances, but in TX no license or insurance required for 66cc or less.

a lot of those cheap dry seeds can be sprouted for extra nutrition too, and store a long time, making a switch to macrobiotic a cinch with bulk buys!

Are there timing devices made for gas fired water heaters?

Yes ^-^ they make them for gas and electric. Mine is an Intermatic timer.. they are an old trusted brand. My water heater is electric so i am not for sure how the gas timers work but i remember when i got mine they had gas timers also.

Thanks, Johnny! I'm on it!

CAN OF CORN + GARLIC= GREAT BREAM/PANFISHSUNFISH/CRAPPIE/TROUT BAIT
SMALL CHUNKS OF IVORY SOAP ON TROT LINE=BIG CATFISH. (IDK WHY... THEY LOVE IT)

HARD 2 GO WRONG WITH WORMS.
IF YOU HAVE A COMPOST AREA AT HOME THERE OUGHT TO BE A TON OF WORMS AROUND. I HAVE A COMPOST AREA. IS BASICALLY 2X6 BOX FRAME. COFFEE GROUNDS, GREEN YARD WASTE... PAPER...

MAKES GOOD FOR MIXING UP POTTING SOIL TOO.
