All churches pick and choose what scriptures will support the doctrines they teach. They also hand pick Bible verses to keep you coming back week after week and donating.

If there is a God do you doubt SHE would want you to question and seek truth?

Absolutely not! My God is a God of truth and love and was the one who opened my eyes to the truth about who really runs the world. Also, although I might refer to God as a "he," I believe he has no real gender as a spiritual being.

Well, yes you can certainly say that hardly any Christians follow this, much less teach it, unfortunately.

But, you cannot say that all are one - regardless. What I mean by this is to say that there is a hierarchy in all things, and Christ spoke of this often in many places in the Bible. Everyone has their station in life, and must live according to it (slave or master, farm worker/hireling or the shepherd, king or commoner, etc.) So, being female is part of the hierarchy that God designed, and we have to live according to our station in the hierarchy.

I also see it as a cautionary statement against the evils of feminism in our present time (a warning, if you will, as to what would occur) which has devastated our society and inverted our family structure.

That is precisely what the elite who run this world want you to believe. And I'm not a Jew living in Old Covenant Israel before the birth of Jesus. This "hierarchy" that you speak of is what caused the femi-nazi revolution that led to the downfall of the nuclear family. One extreme led to another.

When will people ever realize that men and women are equal as human beings? Just because I was born female doesn't make me any less capable of teaching or learning.

You have bought into the feminism lie hook, line, and sinker.

Who ever said anything about being less capable of teaching or learning??

He (yes, I said HE) is the one who wrote the Bible for your instruction. So, if you are saying you don't believe the Bible, you are saying you don't believe Him.

So, why is it you have a problem with him saying you should be (in order) underneath your husband? Is your husband not responsible for you before God? Why do you have a problem with Him saying you should not be teaching in Church? Do you want to see female priests? If so, you are basically saying you know better than Him.

Thats right, and never let anyone tell you otherwise.

Paul was wrong. Remember, Saul hunted and killed the followers of Christ up until he allegedly got knocked off of his high horse. He was very likely in the crowd cheering while Yeshua was being tortured and crucified. While Christ walked this earth, Saul was an enemy. Thats just a fact.

IMO, Pauls letters are highly suspect.

Not trying to offend.

What a useful idiot for the Adversary you are.

After reading these three passages, please explain why they're in the Bible.

1 Corinthians 11:3-10
Quote:". . . the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven. For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man. For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. That is why a wife ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels . . . "

1 Corinthians 14:34-35
Quote:". . . women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church."

This passage, I believe, was not written by Paul, so keep that in mind:
1 Timothy 2:11-15
Quote:" . . . Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing . . . "

Heartflowers

So, basically (from the passages you reference) you do not agree that woman was made for man, that a woman should have to cover her head in Church, or should not teach in Church, or be subject to her husband.

I'm sure there's other religions if you don't like the rules He made for a woman's role.

Pardon me, but what is it about these passages that you are having trouble understanding??

I'm trying to understand (1) why no one has ever taught these passages in my church, (2) why most American Christians don't follow these passages, and (3) why Paul would write such a thing, when Jesus clearly taught that "there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female" because all are one in Christ.

That's all. Heartflowers

I see.

Well, yes you can certainly say that hardly any Christians follow this, much less teach it, unfortunately.

Thats the mindset that has kept people oppressed for thousands of years. There is no such thing as hierarchy, it was only made up by people looking for power. Anyway, as far as women destroying our society, ITS THE CURRENCY SYSTEM THATS DOING THAT. What we should get rid of is money, businesses, banks, employment, etc. having women and men be equal seems like a good thing to me

I'm not a feminist in the sense that I think men are somehow inferior. I AM a feminist in the old sense of the word, in that I believe I have equal value to a man as a fellow human being.

Paul was a human. He was not god. Some of his teaching is questionable. I realize that everything is in the Bible for a reason, but maybe the reason here is for Paul's mistaken teaching to warn others. From some of his writing it appears he was a tad misogynist. He didn't want women learning and asking questions in church; he wanted them to ask only their husbands, as if their husbands were going to be right 100% of the time. That, I think, is where he took a mistep.

I'm not married. I'm single. I'm also not Catholic and don't belief in the hierarchy of priests or whatever that nonsense is. From the way you write, it sounds as though you're a Catholic male.

I do not know better than God, and I know that my God would never put women on a "lower level" than men. You're calling on me to "humble myself to the role that God made for me as a female"? What are you insinuating there? I'm curious.

Women are human. So are men. In the eyes of God, we have equal value. Heartflowers
