I was 6 when 9/11 happened. A few years later, someone asked what my favorite holiday was and I sad "9/11" without thinking and offended them. It's not really my favorite holiday now, but I was obsessed with it as a child.

I still think it would be hilarious if Americans "celebrated" 9/11 in the way you describe. Things always become less taboo as time goes on, for example, pirates. No one would make a movie glorifying pirates in the 1700's when they were a big problem (not that they even had movies), but now that the danger has passed, it's funny and even heroic. Same with the Cold War. My friend and I are making a Youtube comedy series about commie spies in the US. Anyway, get over the terrorism freakout thing. That is so last decade.

Update: Something did happen.

You know the rumor about the ambassador being tortured, raped, and murdered in Libya as part of a planned 9/11 anniversary attack, and how the government had intel about an anniversary attack 48 hours in advance, but didn't do anything? That's what happened. When I said "something is going to happen," I was implying a 9/11 anniversary attack, which you probably inferred, but I couldn't say that at the time because the feds would think I actually had intel of one.

There was a picture out there of the ambassador with his fly unzipped. Someone I trust saw it right when it happened, but the picture subsequently disappeared from the Internet.

This reminds me of when I was sure something was going to happen on November 9, 2010 (proof here) and there was the "mystery missile," which the gov later claimed was a contrail seen in strange atmospheric conditions. The same vigilant person who saw the fly unzipped saw a picture of the mystery missile with a metallic tip. The pic was later nowhere to be found on the Internet.

Why has this happened to me twice in a row? Those were my only predictions of that nature, ever. I've never been wrong, but I've never been right either, because it's always something that could be significant if the evidence wasn't washed away...

I'll abandon this thread now. I cannot claim a great victory, but neither can the Taco Tuesday people. It's a tie.

The only thing I'd ever consider changing it to is 1N5URGENT. Would that make you happy? It wouldn't change anything except your feelings, because the PowerPoint presentations on Wikileaks reveal the secrets of data mining programs, and they c4n 5ee r1ght p45t 5tuff like th1s.

Sorry, but I'm always some variant of "insurgent." I used to be "InsaneInsurgent" but people made fun of me.

Time for an English lesson. The word insurgent does not mean terrorist. It means a member of an irregular military force who takes up arms against a government. Similar to revolutionary, insurrectionist, or guerrilla, but more specific and just a cool word in general. Terrorists are terrorists because they kill civilians.

The wars of the past decade have taken their toll on the word, by using the word to describe people who are both terrorists and insurgents, i.e. Al Qaeda. When my organization starts its media campaign, we will repopularize the word. I have written a whole 5 page academic boring essay about how it is a heroic word and should be salvaged and used in defiance of the political climate. I have Ngram graphs of the word's usage over the centuries to go with it.

Don't give in to propagandists and let it make you feel uncomfortable. Look at the dictionary definition to put your mind at ease. They want to make any armed resistance a taboo. They want to be able to use a denotationally correct word with very negative connotations to describe their enemies so that they will not be accused of blatant lies, but will have a subtle subconscious influence over the populace.

Why are you bothered by my post? I was kind of right. I didn't say "9/11 anniversary attack" because that would imply to the feds that I have some kind of intel, but I implied it, and according to many sources, there was one. If I make enough correct predictions, someone will take them seriously and take preventative measures someday.
