Spices that pack a crunch

A few exotic spices have been known to help alleviate bad breath. You might want to consider carrying a small packet filled with cardamom, coriander (aka cilantro) and fennel seeds. These spices will you get rid of your bad breath quickly and they will leave your month feeling fresh.

"One of the most acidic foods on earth is black pepper (black pepper is a major cause of acid reflux disease)."

Black pepper that has been cooked (over 140 degrees F) is linked to stomach cancer.

Searched the mayo clinic's website. Most of their recipes include pepper. I guess it's all about moderation.

RE: Spicy Thread
In light of one poster's concern over pepper, I did a brief look and found there was concern over dyes being applied to spices.

http://ec.europa.eu/food/food/chemicalsa...nda_en.pdf

What are the potential health effects of these dyes?
Sudan I may have a genotoxic effect and Sudan I to IV have potential carcinogenic effects according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Consequently, the fraud identified by adulteration of food products by Sudan dyes constitutes a risk for public health.

Love the loving! Heartflowers

For words of wisdom, know your spice dealer.

The officials were shocked to see the condition of the factory. According to Rai, insects could be found in gunny bags full of spices kept there for grinding. Apart from the poor quality raw material, Jaiswal had also stored bran, colours, chemicals and even animal waste for adulterating the spices before sending them to the market, said Vijay Bhushan. Apart from spices and articles kept for adulteration, the machines of the factory were also seized.

I ate one a while back. Cut it up and used it in a burrito. See, I thought I was tough...

The more I use black pepper, the bigger fan I become. It goes on almost everything I eat anymore.

P.S. DO NOT rub your eyes after cutting a habanero. I also made the mistake of urinating and using the same hand, washed several times, to hold it. Srjceahd

I maced myself last week LOL after cutting a red chili pepper. Soap does not cut pepper oil from hands. My eyes were shut for at least 3 minutes. chuckle I was blind and dangerous in the kitchen.
