Stephen King tells rich people upset over tax increases: ‘Tough s**t’
Quote:“Tough shit for you guys, because I’m not tired of talking about it,” King said. “I’ve known rich people, and why not, since I’m one of them? The majority would rather douse their d1c45 with lighter fluid, strike a match, and dance around singing ‘Disco Inferno’ than pay one more cent in taxes to Uncle Sugar.”

“Here’s another crock of fresh bullshit delivered by the right wing of the Republican Party (which has become, so far as I can see, the only wing of the Republican Party): the richer rich people get, the more jobs they create. Really? I have a total payroll of about 60 people, most of them working for the two radio stations I own in Bangor, Maine. If I hit the movie jackpot—as I have, from time to time—and own a piece of a film that grosses $200 million, what am I going to do with it? Buy another radio station? I don’t think so, since I’m losing my shirt on the ones I own already. But suppose I did, and hired on an additional dozen folks. Good for them. Whoopee-ding for the rest of the economy.”

And he wants to legalize weed and has been a campaigner for legalization for years.

those who have befitted the most from our system should pay the most. These corporations benefit from our roads, free market system, our utility system and the educational system trains their employees for them. Some such as WalMart pay so little we subsidize their payroll. When you apply at Walmart they actually give you the forms to apply for food stamps.

When you tax the middle class and working poor you are taking food off of their table.

Why would he open up a new business if what he opens loses money?

His comments are not well thought out. He should stick to writing.

Don't you get tired of lying OP?

All that matter is: Gas in 12/08: 1.78 a gallon

Gas in 04-12: 4 bucks a gallon

That is the TAX we poor people can't afford to pay. Not write offs that you already paid for. it's the ridiculous high cost of daily living.

Or Obama is the most cost wasteful person int he history of humanity with the least results imaginable. It's just staggering to fail at such a level so it must be on purpose and that makes him a domestic enemy, which he is.

It doesn't matter how much anyone pays if everyone's hard earned money gets the equivalent of a toilet flush.

Jhikpghf But inflation stands at 4-5% doesn't it?.... erm... wait... what?
Robin hood taxation and Keyensian economics got a pretty good workout in Europe and the rest of the world for that matter.
I believe tax evasion and capital flight are the national sports of Greece.
Soon be seeing the end game of that.
The planned collapse of an entire economic structure.

CENSORED (by popular demand).

If the US pulled back all of it's forces from other countries there would be plenty of money to pay foe everything in the US. You would pay less tax.

Uhm, if we do not consider the bailouts. Cos those trillions where gone the moment he took office. Those trillions should have never been in the system really. Than he is not wasteful.

You are f*cking retarded. He made that point. In this order

1 - I am rich
2 - I do have people employed by me and paid with my money
3 - There are only 60 of them
4 - Not that I ever would, because I've lost money in the deal, but should I open another station it would employ about 12 people.

Boy that trickle down is f*cking amazing.
