Marked for reply later, got a ball to attend.

You want a welfare system? Well you have one.

no shit.

Oil companies get less of a percentage off of their tax dollars in the form of subsidies than other manufacturing companies.

and that $20B is inflated. It was around $4B last year. I don't have the tax figures for this year, but $4B is not a lot when you take into consideration what other industries get and the other industries get more.

Man still trying to be God?

Money, gold, wealth controls all…root of all evil.

A barter of 2 sheep, 3 oxen or gold coins, Satan created money to control the world.

We all play our parts so well, from the wealthy business owner to the poor sap making minimum wage, the cycle continues, until the end.

Welcome to the planet of sorrows.

Quote:“Tough shit for you guys, because I’m not tired of talking about it,” King said. “I’ve known rich people, and why not, since I’m one of them? The majority would rather douse their d1c45 with lighter fluid, strike a match, and dance around singing ‘Disco Inferno’ than pay one more cent in taxes to Uncle Sugar.”

“Here’s another crock of fresh bullshit delivered by the right wing of the Republican Party (which has become, so far as I can see, the only wing of the Republican Party): the richer rich people get, the more jobs they create. Really? I have a total payroll of about 60 people, most of them working for the two radio stations I own in Bangor, Maine. If I hit the movie jackpot—as I have, from time to time—and own a piece of a film that grosses $200 million, what am I going to do with it? Buy another radio station? I don’t think so, since I’m losing my shirt on the ones I own already. But suppose I did, and hired on an additional dozen folks. Good for them. Whoopee-ding for the rest of the economy.”

Why would he open up a new business if what he opens loses money?

His comments are not well thought out. He should stick to writing.

You didn't read his comments very well.

I read his comments and they don't mean a thing. I bet you he is taking the deductions off his taxes for the loses he is incurring.

Smart guy!
Think of all the revenue from taxing just legalized pot. Sure, a lot
of people will grow their own, but a lot of people make their own
wine, beer and even a few make their own booze. Doesn't stop people
from spending tons of money on alcoholic beverages.

Ok, now try to follow this. The rich pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes now than they did years ago when the tax rate was higher because the government got rid of a bunch of tax writeoffs, the so called loopholes. There aren't many left and most of them apply to all income brackets. So the answer to #1 is that they already did.
I follow just fine. I also know that there are still plenty of loopholes
for the wealthiest to avoid paying taxes. What was Warren Buffet
going on about when he noted that his secretary paid a higher percentage
than he did?

The problem with your take is that it's a SMALL percentage of companies that influence government. There are hundreds of thousands of small and medium sized business owners that don't and get lumped in with the 1%.

The solution is not more taxes. The solution is less spending and making it a crime for government to take money from corporations.

I disagree that more taxes on the skaters is not the answer, yet I do agree on spending in moderation. I think that small and medium businesses should be taxed accordingly, and the large ones (especially those using loopholes to avoid taxes entirely) need to be assessed a proper amount. I do not consider small and *some* medium sized businesses to be the 1% either, I would consider them part of the masses that are being ass raped by the large corps/banksters/bought and paid for politicians. my major issue is that the system has been worked over to make the folks at the very top in power to evade *all* of their fair share...while folks like you and I pay the brunt. I think that these corps getting away with zero taxation (change the code to prevent these kinds of loopholes*), need to be brought to task for their usage/destruction of the road systems/bridges/etc and yet not paying taxes. So they add to the demise of the infrastructure (in some cases exponentially) and they don't pay shit back in. So you and I, as individuals, have to pick up the slack via tax hikes, vehicle repairs and then some. I, as a veteran, capitalist (might be waning on this front) and believer in good pay for hard work, cannot almost even stand to look at our system anymore. Every day is even more into teh realm of taxation without representation...and if you remember your American History classes (do they even teach that anymore?) you'll know that taxation without representation is what caused the tea-party (not the "new" one) and ultimately led to the American Revolution. Time for change...and I mean to the status quo. Good luck to you out there sir!

Every business owner has to match Social Security benefits taken out on each individual employee. What a crock of shit!

Not true...they pay, IIRC, 13% of the employee's SS taxes. If you are self-employed or 1099 then you pay all of it. I was paying 40%(!) of my income quarterly when I was 1099/running a business. Yet, again, the big corps/1% don't pay anywhere near that.

I'm gonna need to see some data around this statement... Energy companies are now trolling their employees on a political and financial level also. Inviting congressmen to "all hands" meetings and asking for money to give to the energy super-pacs. Total BS in my mind.
