Some really interesting stuff in there about epic floods, what sound like massive tsunamis, and what I can only think is reference to the moon being MUCH closer to the earth than it is today (prolonged eclipses, massive spring tides, etc)...remember, this was england, not somewhere known today for frequent earthquakes and tsunamis

These events happened in the known "world" of those living at the time. But, as you noted, the pattern is like that of the End that will come upon the WHOLE world. This ultimate happening could not occur until the whole world was knowable. In recent years TPTB have declared the WHOLE world a Global Community. This is very telling and significant, because in the Last Days of the WHOLE world the WHOLE world will be shaken so that all that is temporary and everchanging will be gone, leaving only what is eternal and unchanging, like the unchanging Creator in whose likeness we were made.

Separating wheat (eternal) from chaff (temporal) is like delivering a person from a dream-based identity to their true identity. Take a Barbie doll, for example.
