Teabow: The Fundie Mouthpiece
Quote:When Tim Tebow heard about the Long Island students who were suspended for blocking their high-school hallway during a Tebowing session, the Broncos quarterback was quick to provide instruction: Follow the rules, young ones.

"You have to respect the position of authority and people that God's put as authority over you," Tebow told FOX Sports. "So that's part of it and just finding the right place and the right time to do things is part of it, too. But I think it does show courage from the kids, standing out and doing that, and some boldness."

It's ok. He's fully justified in using his position in the spotlight to share his opinions. Nothing new to the entertainment business.

But I wonder....and I sincerely hope this does doesn't happen

What if something HORRIBLE happened to him during a game where he could no longer use this platform for "god's" purpose?

Would that also be construed as a *sign* of his lack of faith in some circles, much like his "success" is construed to be because of his strength of faith?

Just thinking out loud....

To be honest, I found the almost schizophrenic nature of the sentence to be more scary. The first thing he feels compelled to stay is to obey authority and God (basically his life long programming), but then the programming breaks a bit and he praises their bravery at standing up to authority.

It's quite normal in certain "christian" circles to feel that if something does not go well then you have "wrong" in your life.

Another possibility is he rides out a great career in the league, retires in lordly glory, starts a successful Sunday-TV ministry and then gets caught trolling for man-ass on a meth binge.

Bad things are also allowed to happen. Even John the Baptist was annoyed at Jesus for letting him stew in prison. Paul was also beat and thrown in prison never mind Job that kept his faith and love of God.

It doesn't have to be a bed of roses constantly. We don't know why God allows or not what He does. I suppose it just may be part of the plan after all if we only follow in good times how true are we?

Seems to be a an almost calculable pattern there, eh?

OH..... I GET it!!!!!
You are an ATHEIST.
You hate anyone who is not of YOUR FAITH.
Atheists killed 1/4 billion people during the last 100 years.....
THE ONLY TIME IN HISTORY THEY HAVE BEEN MAJOR PLAYERS.
So it only follows that you'd be an equal opportunity hater... why even the Roman Catholics cannot match those numbers.
