The future is Hydrogen Electric. The trouble with Hydrogen is safety at the pump as it's highly explosive. The latest idea is to encapsulate it in tiny spheres so making refueling safer. The Hydrogen would be split by solar panels from water and be completely clean.

I think this settles it. If you want to get an electric car, buy a table.

The other problem is that the entire batery packs need to be replaced every year at a cost of around $6000 dollars.
Electric Cars do not work.
That is just not true.. where did you hear that? Do you have to replace your laptop battery every year? No? Well they are the same type of battery.

This will be the same then for all electric vehicles, including the much vaunted Nissan Leaf.

Nope. Aftermarket batteries will come out, prices will fall. You guys listen to your right wing masters so much that you will buy anything they are selling. Think for yourself for a change.

So are you saying you dont believe the free market works and that different batteries won't come out to drop the prices? Why does it have to be only Liberals who have an interest in electric cars? Couldnt a conservative want to conserve some of his money and not spend it all on costly gasoline???

Hardly a greentard, I just happen to see the anti electric car hype for what it is. Look through the thread and you will see that the claims are false. Big oil seems to be throwing out all the stops to lie about the viability of electric cars, It wont happen this time. It is game over for big oil and right wing retards. Nobody likes you or your oil wars. Go back to drooling with the likes of Rush and Hannity. Come back when you actually can produce a fact based on data, not childish rhetoricchuckle.

RE: Tesla Cars Can Become 'Bricks'
Well, have you heard about the claim of this blogger named Michael Degusta? He actually wrote about Tesla, that letting its Roadster’s 53-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack run down will destroy the power source and make the car useless. He actually called this brick,In electronics, “bricking” means to render a device no longer functional. Tesla says the issue is one of maintenance, not unsound engineering. Anyways, from what I gathered, Replacing the battery pack in the Roadster could already cost as much as $40,000. I know most you are interested to know more about this, and so I'll left with you my reference: Tesla says "bricked" Roadsters a maintenance issue

http://www.drudge.com/news/153920/tesla-...ome-bricks

Tesla Motors' lineup of all-electric vehicles suffer from a severe limitation that can largely destroy the value of the vehicle, Jalopnik reports. If the battery is ever totally discharged, the owner is left with what Tesla describes as a "brick": a completely immobile vehicle that cannot be started or even pushed down the street. The only known remedy is for the owner to pay Tesla approximately $40,000 to replace the entire battery. Unlike practically every other modern car problem, neither Tesla's warranty nor typical car insurance policies provide any protection from this major financial loss.

So you are saying that it is impossible to tow this car to a garage and have it recharged like every other lithium ion battery on the planet. Why should I believe you?

Challenge your programming.
