Tesla Motors' lineup of all-electric vehicles suffer from a severe limitation that can largely destroy the value of the vehicle, Jalopnik reports. If the battery is ever totally discharged, the owner is left with what Tesla describes as a "brick": a completely immobile vehicle that cannot be started or even pushed down the street. The only known remedy is for the owner to pay Tesla approximately $40,000 to replace the entire battery. Unlike practically every other modern car problem, neither Tesla's warranty nor typical car insurance policies provide any protection from this major financial loss.

So you are saying that it is impossible to tow this car to a garage and have it recharged like every other lithium ion battery on the planet. Why should I believe you?

Common sense will kill this thread dead like so many others I've ended.

Challenge your programming.

They should take the name Tesla from that car,because if they allowed him to be free instead of sweeping him under the rug with the help of Edison and GE the only bricks we have are ones that build buildings. Edison can f*#k off . Tesla the real genius true inventor. The only invention Edison was to steal others ideas and slap his name on it.

The clown running Tesla motors (Elon Musk) claim to fame is he started PayPal. Ripping off the name of a true genius to pimp his overpriced bricks is typical business school tactics.

RE: Tesla Cars Can Become 'Bricks'
I am from Elizabeth NJ - In the 1895 there were useful electric cars and several electric car companies in Elizabeth alone!!!

From Wikipedia;

History

........the first major industry, the Singer Sewing Machine Company came to Elizabeth and employed as many as 2,000 people. In 1895, it saw one of the first car companies, when Electric Carriage and Wagon Company was founded to manufacture the Electrobat, joined soon by another electric carbuilder, Andrew L. Riker. The Electric Boat Company got its start building submarines for the United States Navy in Elizabeth, New Jersey beginning with the launch of USS Holland (SS-1) in 1897.

Tesla cars are the wave of the future.
If you can afford a Tesla you can certainly afford their upkeep.
