So what do you think about this?

Forcing anyone to sign anything by fear of consequence was supposed to be illegal...from what I remember. This kind of crap...and on a corporate level...is becoming more and more prevalent. I *do* believe that discrimination on an employer level is still illegal...so why all of this kind of traffic now? Scary indeed.

I think that churches should not be forced to get 501© status to be tax exempt.

I think that if you do not like what a religious organization believes or pushes you are not forced to be there.

From what I can tell no one put a gun to the heads of these people.

And these document was more like a contract upholding what the school believes to be morally acceptable.

Nothing wrong with weeding people out that do not have the same moral code as the institution.

Yet, if the shoe was on the other foot, IE Christians (or any other religion for that matter) were being culled due to their lack of alignment of thought, there would be riots. I just see this as infringement, I am all for equality and freedom of religion...things are just very slanted as of now...and depending on the region that you are in they are more so slanted.

I'm cool with that....make them pay taxes...they already push agendas (political and religious) from the pulpit..they should be taxed indeed. *But*, if by denying a person employment due to religious beliefs comes to the fore, I have an issue with it. Even if the organization is religious, they have no right to discriminate based on sex, race, creed or religious preference. Again, IMHO, that is why this issue is such a nasty one. Heartflowers

I get what you're saying.

However. Churches never used to have to be 501© to be tax exempt.

Also. Churches are the exemption to discrimination laws because the .gov nuts are not supposed to make laws in regards to religion.

Except for obvious legalities.

They cannot murder people because they are depriving people of their rights, and it is against most religious codes of conduct anyway.

I can see how the subject of religion is frustrating to so many.

However.

Thing were the way they were, so that this frustration is not in the public.
However by pushing the governemnt/religious barrier by pushing non existent regulations(seperation of church and state) this problem will only grow.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The separation of church and state is thus.

Actually. I have no problem with Christians or Catholics or any other religious group being ousted from another religious group.

However, they must be let go, not exterminated.

I think these groups do indeed have the RIGHT, not privilege to ensure their moral/ethical codes and religious message is as pure as they want.

With the exceptions of extreme violations of other peoples rights. I.e, murder would not be tolerated.

RE: The Jewish orthodox (too hot) case.
So the point still stands.

This precedent is looming because they have made it seem reasonable in some peoples minds.

The ideal or true tolerance and equality is not one fairness.

Fairness necessarily negates equality and tolerance.

Look at the title 9. The NAACP which are two good examples of the ideals or fairness in their most terrible form.

Individuals can be fair.

Mass fairness always seems to be the most unfair.

RE: The Jewish orthodox (too hot) case.
OP has a good point here, Churches should be allowed to preach their beliefs without having to worry about the IRS or any other agency of government.
