Does anyone have any plants or flowering plants indoors that seem burned from the sun light? I have a "Peace Lilly" that has turned its pedals away from the sun and 95% of the pedals (those that get direct sunlight) are not the usual white hood but are green almost variegated. This plant is over 25 plus years old, I have never seen this behavior? The leaves in some spots appear burned on the edges and in some centers?

Also, does anyone have a bird feeder and have you noticed the birds have stopped eating? Yet in the spring and early summer I had to re-fill every other day, that rate of consumption was about three times usual?

Folks, the signs are all around us that something in Nature is about to pop? Popcorn

There you have it; it is not about to pop, but were something to happen it would present problems for commerce and the maintanance of necessary public services.

And the 'FEMA camps' -- they are staging areas for people and supplies as well as relocation centres for those that are displaced, have no where else to go for having failed to make plans to maintain their lives and family's safety.

Would you have her / them do nothing and leave people without shelter, food or water?

Emergency Management was never a conspiracy before, it was a necessary means to assure the continued existence of families, not a means of extermination--we live this every day and I can assure you her emergency contingency plans and budget expenditures are to preserve life, not destroy it.

I am in no way disagreeing with your viewpoint here, only stating what 'they' are practicing for, 'just in case'.

Personally I'm glad for the training. Memphis is overdue for a 6.0 quake,
and if that happens during the day while kids are in school it could be
very bad indeed. Many of the Memphis city schools are old brick frame
buildings and those don't hold up well at all in a quake. Most of the homes
in Memphis are wood frame though and should be ok through a quake of
that size.

I keep an "earthquake kit" with supplies of food and water to last me
30 days. It's just the prudent thing to do in an earthquake zone.

My wife will routinely be gone for days or weeks at times of an emergency, which in Virginia has until last year only meant hurricanes.

When Hurricane Isabel left central Virginia and parts of Richmond under ten feet of water without power for weeks we had food, water, power supplied via a generator and I watched DVD's of favorite movies at home. I should say I had food, water and power, she was in her office and the field managing recovery. We lived in an appartment complex at the time and I can emphatically state we were the only appartment unit with any preps and any supplies--the entire complex was empty within a few days.

And a lesson was learned in that event--communication went down, not because of service failures but because miserable P.O.S. people stole over one hundred generators that had been placed at utility poles and other sites to power the fiber optic and cable systems that phone calls went through.

Personally, I do believe those individuals that stole the generators should have been shot on sight by law enforcement, no questions asked if witnessed tampering with communictions systems critical to people calling for assistance or trying to contact loved ones following the emergency by stealing the generators that powered them.

I chained my generator to the fence railing of the steps leading to the appartment we lived in at the time--not that it would have prevented a theft, but because it would have delayed the theft long enough for me to put a few rounds into whomever may have been attempting to steal my generator.

And I would have done it with no warning to them regardless of their age, race or sex.

I stand by those words.

I'm kind of with you there. The only problem I see are LEOs deciding
to go beyond those actions and justify cold blooded murder. That
happened on a bridge in New Orleans.
