The real deal with tobacco
Natural tobacco that is not cured the way commercial tobacco is cured, free of additives and is organic is the best kind of tobacco. It can protect from radiation, help asthma attacks, protect the lungs from from infection, and toxins in the air. It can help eczema with a water extract applied externally.

Even American Spirit Organic tobacco cures it the way the other commercial tobacco is cured.

Therefore, the only available tobacco one can buy that is best seems to be the Mapacho medicinal shamanic tobacco from the Nicotiana Rustica strain.

it's hard to find on the net though but I have some links in case anyone cares.

This pure form of tobacco is not as addictive and not in the least as destructive as commercial cigarettes. Yes even the American Spirit Organic tobacco is not as good since it's still acidic due to the specific curing process it goes through. Don't even mention Winstons.

All non-organic commercial tobacco even Roll Your Own has radioactive emissions which are really bad for the lungs and it is THIS which can cause cancer in the lungs.

I've had shamanic tobacco and it is really a pure type of feeling and energy I get from it. it can help to calm a person and return to the "I" thought and quiet the mind. Used shamanically of course, it is a meditation in itself.

I've been telling people this for years. It's not the tobacco folks, it's what they put in it, saltpeter, chlorine, burn accelerators all kinds of nasty stuff. I smoke American Spirits and while they might cure them the same I can always tell the difference. Whenever I smoke a cowboy killer or some other brand, I immediately feel ill, headaches, dizzy, tight chest etc. And the taste is just nasty. Not so with AS. I'll look into the shamanic stuff.

RE: The real deal with tobacco
Ready. Here you go.

Until just recently hardly any sites sold it, but it seems to be making a comeback.

http://basementshaman.com/certobbun.html
http://www.salvialight.com/nicotiana-rustica.htm
http://www.bouncingbearbotanicals.com/sa...GZm8FHaxnE

http://www.mazatecgarden.com/products/sm...%20rustica

Make sure you research though which is the best site to get from because I've gotten some that were moldy, esp. as some of the websites will claim it's "for ornamental purposes" I guess, so they might not be selling the really fresh stuff.

But I've gotten the really good stuff.

In fact the best kind I've had was the one that was still moist, I dried it myself. A non-acidic smoke and very smooth.

Theres lots of mapacho seeds available online. That won't be hard to find.

RE: The real deal with tobacco
Mapacho is used shamanically to clear negative energy is one's aura.

Also used for purging. Smoked until it makes you vomit and hallucinate or drunken as a tea to induce purging.

BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS. I'm just mentioning some of it's traditional uses in South America, specifically during Ayahuasca rituals.

But regular smoking still has an effect of purging and protecting from toxins.

I don't recommend using it though as a habit much like an addiction. Shamanic/medicinal purposes are suggested only.

I must also add that this tobacco is stronger than the regular kind of tobacco. Much more potent.

No one will care if you grow a few plants, it can be hard if you don't have enough to pollinate, but I've had friends do it.

I live in NC and have been growing my own for a while. You can grow in any of the 50 states.... I do know the law on this for a fact. You can grow as far north as Vermont and Washington State!

Try eBay for seeds, but if you REALLY want to know the correct way to grow and which strains, go to http://www.fairtradetobacco.com and browse the posts. Lots of members are willing to help worldwide.

There is more info there than probably any tobacco company.

Which one is the mildest? I smoke the cheap Bugler blue bag. American Spirit is too strong for me. I'm looking for something with less of a head rush than the American Spirit.

Thanks.

Ever thought about mixing mullein in with a tobacco that's too strong? It's pleasant filler, good for the lungs and easy to gather

RE: The real deal with tobacco
All commercial non-organic tobacco is grown with a special pesticide that is different form the pesticides used to grow food. This pesticide contains radioactive particles.

I saw this mentioned in another thread at GLP, citing an article about this.

That's why I would stay away even from additive free non-organic tobacco, including Winstons and yeaj even the non-organic American Spirit.

But again, even further if you buy organic tobacco (like American Spirit) that is cured the same way as other cig tobacco you'll get an acidic tobacco which is not as favorable as the less commercial kinds of tobacco. American Spirit Organic or any other commercial organic tobacco is tons better than additive free non-organic tobacco, not to mention the lesser additive ridden kinds.

All American tobacco is highly regulated. I think the Nicotiana Rustica is not as regulated so you can find some that have their own practices during the processing and curing. It all comes from South America.
