Great info, gotta say I've given up on growing corn here in Central Texas-either the stalks get bowled over by high winds or ants get em or drought gets em.....

I've heard this method works tho...

I should have my annual Garden up thread with picts up tomorrow here tho....

Cheer

Hey man, check out my thread on an organic home made bug spray - might just keep the ants at bay !

Tobacco! Thanks. I printed it and kept it. I never heard of mixing wood ashes and molasses with it.

Electric fence.

If society fell apart, we - the people would build a new one. Most people are good at their core, and when we see things that are wrong we work to fix them together. Make friends with your neighbors, get involved with your community - because we will rebuild our lives, our communities, from horrible circumstances we always will.

Electric fence.

Deer hate the smell of human hairs. Spread some around the outside areas of your garden.

A good dog?, fence it in? or maybe a shotgun?
Deer gotta eat too, so if you have a problem with them it's probably a single group or herd since bucks are territorial. Simply give them corn with easy access i.e. plant some corn in the open away from your garden or get some bags of "deer corn" from someplace like "Tractor Supply" and put it out (it's pretty cheap).
Animals are like people, they will take the easiest source of food - give them food that's not hard to get while your garden corn is protected.

I tried that Jhikpghf I have 8 deer that hang around the house all the time. They eat whatever I plant.

I did put up an electric fence (like one person suggested) but its around my fruit trees. I suppose I could expand it and put the corn inside (its planted in a different area.
