Middle of May here in northern England and it's 5'c with hill-snow in some places, we've not had anything decent since those 2 weeks in March and it's seriously starting to piss me the f*ck off. Rain 24/7 for 3 months nearly is stupidly annoying.

It's making the gardening hard work this year :/

My beans are nearly two feet high now..and they're still on the windowsill lol

I'm finding comfort in the remembrance that it snowed in early June in 1976 (hottest British Summer ever (lol) for all you foreign types :)

Here's hoping!

Cheers

Everything is permitted

Same here in southern Ireland, the weather for this time of year is totally f**ked up,we had it good as well for about two weeks in march but i have to light the fire in the living room,I've never had to do that in may before.
And wait for it,after all that rain,TPTB will probably introduce a hose pipe ban and claim lack of winter rainfall as the reason not to mention increasing the water charges in England ... AGAIN

I can see the Cheviots from where I am (North Northumberland) and they a covered in snow from overnight!
For years they would nearly always have snow on them up until about April, but then in the late 90's they hardly ever had snow on them at all and even then it would disappear very quickly.
But in the last three years the snow on them returned, but now it is here in mid May!

Lucky easterner's are sheltered by the Pennines so don't get the Orographic rain falling over your heads. Where I live is practically the rain barrier of England, if you want water to hosepipe down the gardens in the SE then you're more than welcome to it.

As the south is drying up with hosepipe bans still in place, up north our reservoirs are literally overflowing from additional rainfalls. So much so the local tributary inlet has had to be widened to cope with the flow.

Seriously sorry for your bad stretch of weather. It can be soul crushing to not see the sun day after day..you feel like you could begin to mold any day. Here in Wisconsin we usually have these gawd awful wet, cool, and rainy springs, but not this year. I think we are about one month ahead temperature/weather-wise. Now, I am happy about that, but my head keeps telling me, "this is not right". I think this wacky weather will become the norm.

RE: This weather can seriously piss off now
You can see on the surface front forecast wave after wave of Low Pressure systems just moving across the UK along the jetstreak. The Azores high to the south tries to build everytime but just gets blasted out of sight by these Low's.

What's needed is a good 1040mb high to build in the south and just stay there. Signs are that might happen around the time of May 21st, but it's a guessing game for now to how the models forecast this end of a SSW.
