horn Thousands of Fishes die in Midwest
[Image: 3E34_501FF410.jpg]
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Thousands of fish are dying in the Midwest as the hot, dry summer dries up rivers and causes water temperatures to climb in some spots to nearly 100 degrees.

About 40,000 shovelnose sturgeon were killed in Iowa last week as water temperatures reached 97 degrees. Nebraska fishery officials said they've seen thousands of dead sturgeon, catfish, carp, and other species in the Lower Platte River, including the endangered pallid sturgeon. And biologists in Illinois said the hot weather has killed tens of thousands of large- and smallmouth bass and channel catfish and is threatening the population of the greater redhorse fish, a state-endangered species.

So many fish died in one Illinois lake that the carcasses clogged an intake screen near a power plant, lowering water levels to the point that the station had to shut down one of its generators.

"It's something I've never seen in my career, and I've been here for more than 17 years," said Mark Flammang, a fisheries biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. "I think what we're mainly dealing with here are the extremely low flows and this unparalleled heat."

Pinned. I know this is happening all over the place, so post your links to other fish kills.

There have been a few here in Arkansas.

With climate changes that we're all witnessing, people should really take a look at the geoengineering that is taking place and wonder if that geoengineering is what's CAUSING the climate changes.

Happens every year, doesn't it? High temps + low level of oxygen means death.

The record heat means overkill.

Good post OP, thought it was an interesting front page article for yahoo...the real question is if it's really just the heat, or could radiation, corexit, chemtrails, HAARP, etc you fill in the blank be causing the mass die offs? We all know its not just fish, and it's not just the midwest...its lots of animals, all over the world

RE: Thousands of Fishes die in Midwest
Even though this was written a year ago, it talks about different mass animal die offs recently all over the world, and a variety of species. There are thousands of articles (mainly 2011-2012 it seems) online about different, but similar die offs. They always seem to have an "explanation" and claim none of these are related and each die off unique. I find it a little hard to believe, lots of theories though on it

RE: Thousands of Fishes die in Midwest
I went down to my favorite marsh here and the water is very low. Usually when the water is really low you can see the grass carp swimming around, but nothing this time. Because of the fish die off now the whole marsh is having a bad algea bloom problem. I'll try to take some pictures next time I go down. It's not pretty.

Peace

RE: Thousands of Fishes die in Midwest
The Mississippi River is abnormally low as well. This isn't something
that happens every year. Especially with the slew of record breaking
high temps in the last couple of months. Not "normal" at all, and
not caused by the Sun, or some magical planet playing hide-and-go-seek
in our inner solar system.

“We believe that this law is going to collapse under its own weight… This to us is something that
we’re not going to give up on, because we’re not going to give up on destroying the health
care system for the American people.”

The marsh I visit is backwater from the Mississippi. Yeah the river is very low.

I had some of those same thoughts/concerns when I read the article.
