Well perhaps for some of us but yet you never know. I feel that I am living the consequence of the poor choices I've made in life, (not all though) and at this moment I'm not having the advantage of choice so here I am. Yet again, looking back I wouldn't have done anything different because I followed my heart. So go figure. Destiny? I think so. Some say it is our DNA programming that propels us in our choices and if that is so, then there is no free will.

Life is for learning. And boy have I learned a lot! I'm not bitter, just a little pissed sometimes but I try to understand and stay balanced.

A fascinating topic indeed.

Oh, I feel ya, vv. It all comes down to choices...and trust me, I've made my share of "questionable" ones. It comes down to living with the results of said choices, which I am okay with. On a deeper level, though, I'm wondering if it's not too late to make new choices...ones that would better fit our lives at present. Unfortunately, that would leave some people in the dust. Not an easy thing to do. Heartflowers

Chrysalis I think you have already made your choice. And there probably is no right time to act if that's what you're wondering, so just do it....don't mean to be presumptuous but I think I get your drift.

All the best to you,

vv

Hugs You are quite insightful, and I appreciate your comments. Heartflowers

Is there anything you've wanted to do, but haven't, or didn't have the chance to?

Not really. I have done everything I wanted to do so far. If I did not achieve something, it's because I probably didn't want it deep down.

Is it ever? I've just been wondering about life and choices and whether or not destiny plays a role in our existence at all. Is it ever too late to make a change, or to do something you've been meaning to do? What if you don't? Does that just prolong the process, or is something lost?

There is no such thing as too late.
There is only regret.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true."
— Søren Kierkegaard
Most arguments rely on appeals to authority or morality. Truth and reason necessarily rely on neither.

banana RE: Too Late
7. Consider when, on a voyage, your ship is anchored; if you go on shore to get water you may along the way amuse yourself with picking up a shellish, or an onion. However, your thoughts and continual attention ought to be bent towards the ship, waiting for the captain to call on board; you must then immediately leave all these things, otherwise you will be thrown into the ship, bound neck and feet like a sheep. So it is with life. If, instead of an onion or a shellfish, you are given a wife or child, that is fine. But if the captain calls, you must run to the ship, leaving them, and regarding none of them. But if you are old, never go far from the ship: lest, when you are called, you should be unable to come in time.

If that doesn't fit, try this one:

8. Don't demand that things happen as you wish, but wish that they happen as they do happen, and you will go on well.

That's a pretty good one there!
