Odd orbits of remote objects hint at unseen world, new calculations suggest.

How big exactly the planetary body might be isn't clear, but there are a lot of possibilities, Gomes added.

Based on his calculations, Gomes thinks a Neptune-size world, about four times bigger than Earth, orbiting 140 billion miles (225 billion kilometers) away from the sun—about 1,500 times farther than Earth—would do the trick.

But so would a Mars-size object—roughly half Earth's size—in a highly elongated orbit that would occasionally bring the body sweeping to within 5 billion miles (8 billion kilometers) of the sun.

Mass transfer and accretion
As a main sequence star increases in size during its evolution, it may at some point exceed its Roche lobe, meaning that some of its matter ventures into a region where the gravitational pull of its companion star is larger than its own. The result is that matter will transfer from one star to another through a process known as Roche Lobe overflow (RLOF), either being absorbed by direct impact or through an accretion disc.

Our Sun is smaller and a little more yellow than most other main sequence stars, which are white. It will gradually run out of hydrogen fuel in another 5 billion years, at which point it will expand to become a red giant. After that it will dim, cool down, and fade into a white dwarf.

Question -
Is energy being transferred to our sun from its companion hence the change of colour from yellow to white?

Increasing volume of interstallar particles entering within the heliosphere, and of course interacting with earths own magnetic field....

That's probably exactly what those sounding rockets were launched for then. They wanted to know as close as possible how it's currently interacting.

Yes, Andrew Collins proposed such a connection, but it is far from
proven ... and more importantly, it does little to support your 2012-ish
imminent-transformation-from-Fluff-wetdream chuckle
