No.
But if a genocide were to happen, the Venezuelans who handed in their guns will be f*cked!
Most gun owners will never be faced with a life threatening situation. But in the event that one is faced with a life threatening situation, you will be begging to have a gun to defend yourself.

RE: Venezuela bans private gun ownership
So...
When will the intellectuals start being wiped out in Venezuela? Or, will it be outright genocide?
Every time this happens, the smart people die.
Oh I'm sorry, they'll be labeled "subversives" . After all, can't have those smart folks making plans to take back the country.

I wished I had that chart showing multiple country's ban on guns and how long it took for genocide to take place, unreal.

Some Gun Control Facts!
1911 Turkey established gun control. From 1915-1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. (Source: Art. 166, Penal Code)
1929-1953 The Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, approximately 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. (Source: Art. 182, Penal Code)
1935 China established gun control. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. (Source: Arts. 186-7, Penal Code Art. 9, Security Law)
1938 Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, 6 to 7 million Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally ill, and 12 million Christians who were unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. (Source: Law on Firearms & Ammunition; Weapons Law)
1956 Cambodia established gun control. From 1975 to 1977, one million "educated" people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. (Source: Arts. 322-8, Penal Code)
1964 Guatemala established gun control. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. (Source: Decrees 36 and 283)
1970 Uganda established gun control. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. (Source: Firearms Ordinance Firearms Act)
Australia: In 1996, Australia adopted draconian gun control laws banning 60% of all firearms and requiring registration of all firearms and licensing of gun owners.
Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts...
From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia
Hi Yanks,
I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under. It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.
The first year results are now in: Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent, Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not! and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly.
Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in "successfully ridding Australian society of guns." You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the state Assembly disseminating this information. The Australian experience proves it. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note Americans, before it's to late!
.
If it seeketh, expects, or demands worship, it is not divine!!
If an entity were not judgmental and if an entity were not controlling then it would have no need to be either just nor "merciful" in the first place now would it!? - Cosmah

Quote:Venezuela has brought a new gun law into effect which bans the commercial sale of firearms and ammunition.
Until now, anyone with a gun permit could buy arms from a private company.
Under the new law, only the army, police and certain groups like security companies will be able to buy arms from the state-owned weapons manufacturer and importer.

Do you understand how many murders and deaths are a result of private gun ownership. We can easily stop this by banning unauthorized and untrained people from owning firearms.
It is pointless to own a firearm.
no-whats pointless is you breathing air.

RE: Venezuela bans private gun ownership
This is what communist countries do. It's much more difficult to control an unarmed slave. And you are DOOSHBAG OF THE DAY. My congrats.
Note that when similar bans were imposed on the formerly free people of Australia and England, murder rates, and overall crime rates increased. Dramatically. Seems the perps realized the victims were now unarmed. Sorry, Can't resist the urge to call you a bedwetting dooshburger. Perhaps they should have rounded up the baseball bats, knives, cars, rocks, matches, beer bottles, sticks, gasoline, rope, chains, screwdrives, shovels and other tools, nails, lumber, anything made of steel, water, boats, tall buildings, modes of transportation, electricity, plastic bags, glass, hands, neck-ties and anything else not made of foam. Dumbass.

And Dooshburger.....I must add that when someone breaks into your home and rapes your sister, as you lay hog-tied on the floor crying like a b*tch, feckless and cowering, you will feel differently.

One more thing, dooshburger. You can then explain to your raped sister that it is better she be raped by a bunch of smelly homeless guys than you resorting to anykind of manly behaviour. Dumbass.
Oh, and dooshburger.....You do understand that Venezuela is a communist country? Don't answer that, it was rhetorical.
