wtf?
Dogs are not wolves anymore, they are domesticated animals .
may be related to wolves - they have evovled over the years to not eat like a wolf or we would all be in trouble!
I dont think cooked veggies hurts them at
in fact its in most food - store bought isnt it? even in gourmet dog foods.
I know of one person who does the raw food but I did not ask what they gave their dog or pass judgement, its their deal , but not mine!
but JMO
giving dogs raw meat is asking for trouble -
bacteria # 1 but also if they crave blood they will kill for it!
Thats no joke - that is why we never gave our dogs raw meat on the farm.
My next vet apt I will be asking about these questions.

Hopefully you don't have any children, They too could lick your plate clean and you could supplement them with Flintstones vitimins...
Dogs have a very short digestive track and are mostly immune to bacterias in their guts. My dog only eats chicken mostly the dark meat,& liver and all of the bones and skin, he has never been sick and only needs to eat once a day and he doesnt crave food 24/7 like most deficient american dogs..
By the way, the vitimin industry is racked with fraud, usually 1/2 the pill is cement. Why would you think they would give you what your paying for with a dog?

RE: Vitamins for you DOG
P.S. its cheaper to feed your dog real food and you know what its really eating, not some cooked can of carrion sprayed with chemicals to enhance all nutritional value...My dog eats better then most humans and less then $1 a day. I would also stay clear of all the vaccinations your Vet offers. Unless you like to give your Vet your money...Dogs only need rabies shot about every 2-4 years.

RE: Vitamins for you DOG
I make an excellent supplement which is used for our family (1 year old-grandma), dogs and horses.
A ton of research went into this and was first prepared for a 4 month old weanling. She's almost 2 now and is the healthiest filly in the county, per her vet and natural farrier. Her coat and feet are amazing.
The supplement is the same just the amount is adjusted.
All stuff was bought or harvested in bulk prior to fukushima. Toss everything into a food processor and grind until fine, used as tea with honey for the people and dogs 1x per week or as needed. My old dingo has experienced reversed aging since being on this tea. She loves it and has helped with appetite, digestion and soreness.
Sprinkled with black oil sunflowers (not for homogenized paints) and a small amount of oats for horses 3 times a week.
dried peas (base)
dandelion (general health/chlorophyll)
yuri kelp (over 60 vitamins, minerals and amino acids)
rose hips (vitamin C)
slippery elm (stomach)
REAL sea salt (minerals and salts)
cayenne (blood)
Calendula Officinalis (liver, gall bladder, uterus, digestive system, infections, heart, skin care, inflammation and healing)
chamomile ( potassium, calcium, magnesium, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic, relaxant)
echinacea (red blood cells, lymphocytes, haemoglobin, neutrophils)
fenugreek (digestive)
ginger root (carrier herb, lungs and immunity)
If you're ill, mix in 15 drops of goldenseal 2-3 times a day for up to 7 days and within 20 minutes your feeling good as new.

JF Priest Wrote:Ghenghy Wrote:kittykat Wrote:Ive never heard of Deprenyl - was that something the vet
suggested?
No, I didnt tell the vet until years later. He didnt have any objection after he researched it. Deprenyl is an anti-aging drug, its well covered on the web. Been used for decades in Europe for veterinary applications. Intl. Anti-Aging Systems in the UK was my source.
BTW, dont want anybody to get the impression I was just experimenting on my dog. At 4 years old he was very sick, and his immune system was shot. The Vet said he'd be lucky to make 7 and cautioned me "dont get too attached to this dog." Well shit, at 4 you think I was attached? LOL I credit the Deprenyl with fixing Elvis' systematic problems, he eventually went overnight to a brain tumor.

dont get attached to your dog? a vet said that?
I think I would have changed vets -
thats sad -I had another dog that had AIH - and died suddenly
to I feel your pain and your loss. my dog was only 5 yrs ol at the time
the one we have now is 3 - I hope he lives a longer life, hes very fun
but Im going to check with our vet and see what he says about vitamins
i worry about my dog now - because he throws up = he gets hungry and has to eat right away
i think he has low blood sugar
