wall WHy do some people still believe the earths core is molten iron????
It goes against every law of our understanding of main stream physics....
When you heat iron it loses it magnetic field, end of..... S977

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

"Inside the earth, there is a core of molten iron. This iron is at a temperature above the Curie point and therefore can't be magnetized. Yet the earth is magnetized, with a north and a south magnetic pole. The magnetic field of the earth comes from an electromagnet, that is, from electrical currents flowing inside the liquid metal core."

I saw this recently that addressed your issue. Starting at about 22:00 talks about magnetism and the core:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJUTUFAWfEY

I have no idea what's at the core. I've never seen it.

Maybe it's paramagnetic, and the sun's magnetism induces the field, along with the flow?

I don't know.

RE: WHy do some people still believe the earths core is molten iron????
A moving or changing electric field produces magnetism and a moving or changing magnetic field produces and electric field.

If there is a molten iron core [I have my doubts] then it is being exposed to the electromagnetic fields of the sun and the moon.

The electric field of the earth is inside of the suns electromagnetic field. The earth is moving and so is the sun.

Moving fields.... electromagnetism.

Add the so called eddy currents of the theoretic Iron core and that is where the magnetic poles are supposed to come from as the core is rotation at a different rate from the rest of the earth.

Convenient explanations. Guesses really, the earth was considered flat by the thinkers of the day once, Dumb Europeans that was, Vikings, Egyptians and Chinese were well aware of the spheroidal nature of the earth.

Cheer Cheer Cheer

What did we win?

Of course the scientists cheated, using sodium, but the earth's core has to be some kind of alloy or mixture anyway, right?

?????

I don't know.

You know there is a difference between magnetism and gravity don't you?
Who says we think it is iron because it is magnetic? I don't think the earth or it's core is magnetic.

Ok, maybe I do think there is some light magnetic effect coming from the core. And that is not because the iron is magnetic itself, but because it is spinning. So according to the law of induction, magnetism is created when electrons move (or spin).

RE: WHy do some people still believe the earths core is molten iron????
This constant BS about the earth core being a solid iron core, with a high speed moving liquid shell surrounding it, is just so much fantasy (and this supported by the so called intelligent scientific community of pedigreed dogs with tenure ...Jptdknpa )

Even a middle school science geek learns the basic law of thermodynamics, and this entire BS theory of the science community "DOES NOT" stand up to scrutiny (but sure does keep the grants rolling in right?)

Liquid iron does not maintain a magnetic field, plus all that heat is dispersed (conducted) to the the surrounding shell of the core itself, thus "removing" heat from the liquid iron shell, thus would have long before now been turned into solid iron..

And that BS theory was used to replace the OTHER BS theory over the core begin nothing but a solid magnetic iron core that does not move at all..

We have never seen the core, we cant even get past the radioactive belt that is responsible for magma in the first place, much less get "at" the core so many thousands of miles down (we haven't even breached the earths crust)..

These morons suffer from a severe debilitating mental disease called MMD (mental myopia disorder), and although I would like to blame them for it, "technically" I cannot, because they were trained (like dogs) to be tunnel visioned, and a non imaginative fool, who just happens to get the grants to slobber over the cool toys to produce nothing for the rest of their life (just like the majority of mainstream mathematicians)..

The theory is false, it does not stand up to the smell test, yet people chew on this like it's USDA grade beef, when it's just packaged shit with beef flavoring....S977
