How nice. That's like Darth Vader and Sauron becoming a couple.

Whoa, Barb, that is the best picture yet!!! Turkey's done!

I'd make a mess all over those things honey...

The Monsanto sweet corn that Walmart will be carrying also contains Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) toxins. These toxins are lethal to certain insects. Bt is registered with the EPA as a pesticide. As such, it technically makes the corn itself a pesticide.

I'm confused. Since when does Monsanto grow and package corn? Don't they just sell the seeds to farmers?

Yes, but didn't the government help take over some of these farms years ago with some cash influx into failing farms, and then hook em up with these bunk seeds?

At least, that's the story I was told when watching the movie "The Future of Food."

Yup, and it's not JUST corn either..it's many, many, different kinds of fruits and vegetables, milk, grains..etc.. And the farms are still being flooded, burnt, droughted,
And infested or infected with some kind of pest or disease. Hmm...guess they'll have to start over with all that new and improved seed that resists everything! Will we be genetically modified to process all of this?

I like Walmart for one thing, they still sell some plastic plates and cups not made in China. Very hard to find elsewhere. But I don't buy food there! They have the worst selection of food! It's tailored right to the big fat junk food consumers. I'm not surprised they buy the Monsanto corn that other chains won't touch. It'll be cheap though. You get what you pay for. But all of society pays for it in the long run!

Farmers don't want seeds for a crop they can't send to market. Monsanto can negotiate with Walmart to accept these crops ahead of time. That's my guess.

I'd love for the two companies to sign an exclusive deal so I could avoid both at once.

Then, honestly, I wouldn't give a shit.

i'm having one of those 'sympathetic with the elites' moments
not really, that's wrong, but if people don't care what they eat then who are you or me or anyone else to tell them they have to care? most of them have the same internet we do, it's not like information isn't plentiful
they just don't care

Somewhere around 90% of all corn and soybeans grown in the USA is GMO. No one is holding a gun to the farmers' heads making them grow GMO crops. The US farmers are feeding the world just like the US military are protecting our freedoms.
