More like they wear them because they know they are going against everything this country once used to stand for and either feel shame or fear that the public will hold them accountable for their actions.

Sorry mate, but you're wrong there. All Cops must wear ID numbers CLEARLY at all times. There was a big stink about the cops hiding the numbers under flouresent jackets a while back and the practice was stopped.

like i said i wasnt too sure about the uk..

here in america they are only required to wear a badge usually around their neck and usually never clearly visible

the only cops here that wear fluorescent jackets are crossing guards and meter maids

Protestors are no longer allowed to wear face scarves or balaclavas. But now, the Police/Riot Squads wear them under their face shields.

I thought they were banned for protestors because the pepper spray had less effect on them when they wore them. That was the reason protestors were wearing them, right? To protect themselves from overzealous police who spray them in the face at point-blank range....I would have guessed that it would help the cops to avoid inhaling the stuff they're spraying at the people.

Am I way off? No one has mentioned this yet in the articles about it online or in this forum.

it's amazing how they have acclimated the western world to this
25 years ago i was in south america and this was how the "police' in banana republics looked and acted,it was really freaky the first time you saw it,
