banana 'War' promised if IRS attacks church speech
While a group that opposes expressions of Christianity in public forums wants the IRS to use its formidable power to crack down on what pastors say, one legal foundation says, “Bring it on,” promising a “legal war” if churches are attacked on such issues.

Churches in the US have no right to make political statements and they do it all the time. I say, take them apart piece by piece and give the proceeds to the poor as they were supposed to be doing all along.

Ther's no finer way to start the morning than with a steaming cup of liquid assole.

Once a church accepts tax exempt status they lose their freedom of opinion.
That is why some churches choose to pay property taxes.

They can talk politics all they want as long as they are not claiming tax exempt status. That is the separator.

Indeed. If they want to be political, they should pay taxes.

Sigh

This country is so f*cked up.

We need to get it back to its Constitutional roots.

Simple solution. Make them all pay taxes and watch how fast they dry up because all of that tithing will no longer be free money for them.

That is one of the most awkwardly written sentences I have read in a while.

Thats not true. Once your church becomes 501.c.3 it looses freedom of speech. But it is not required to be tax exempt.
